I thought that a King at that time could do whatever they wanted, I guess not, at least Sejong is nothing like Henry VIII. There is another language that they mention the "idlu", they said that is easier that chinese, but it used only for clerks... It must be difficult to speak one language that is different when reading and writing, like I'm able to read italian and portuguese, and undestand when is spoken, but I cannot speak or write them. I guess is not so easy to create a new writing system like I thought

Director Yun refers to the linguist kid as his grandson-in -law. In a flashback, we see that the kid's father is Blinky the Scholar. If Blinky was married to Yun's daughter, the kid would be his grandson. Where does the "in law" part come from???

I've been wondering how the in-law part got in there too. I thought the kid married one of Yun's granddaughters, but as usual, the translation was just off. Didn't one drama say something about a woman being 10 months pregnant one time?

Very sad when Director Yun died.....not unexpected of course. It looked like even Jo Malseng shed a tear at the funeral. Now the King has none of his original group left.....
Grandson-in-law did seem strange - I assumed he must have married the director's grand daughter...

I thought grandsopn-in -law meant he married Yun's grand daughter as well but the ages seemed way off. Scholar Blinky & Director Yun did not seem a generation apart so that Blinky's son would marry Yun's grandaughter. Yun looked to be in his latae 40's and Blinky did not seem that much younger. Who knows???

It was sad to see Director Yun died. I guess the Crown Prince has not luck with women . Wow, five years has passed and they haven't be able to create a new writing system yet, I liked the fact that this drama is very into the inventions during the Sejong reing more that the battles, last night was mentioned that chinese language has 2,000 characters, and other things that are very nice to know....

Have you noticed that the King's Royal Attendant & the one for the CP have not aged a bit. They were with the King in the North when he was in exile which was before he was even the CP-- at least 20 years ago!!!

Yes, it's funny how some folks seems to age and others don't....the Queen's chief Attendant who used to be the attendant of the previous Queen is pretty gray now. Most of the advisors also have gray beards as well.......the Queen herself still looks quite the same to me....still very little expression. ;-)

Can't someone pole that blasted Ming Envoy guy already? I'm tired of seeing his smug face.

Now that this show is almost over I'm getting confused as to who is who among the younger members of the Hall of Worthies......and who is for and against the new writing system...
That's sad to have to give Jang Yongsil up to the Ming if that's what is going to happen...after all it was years ago when he got/stole the info. It was funny when the King's wagon fell apart.....
And I'm still confused as to how Dami's brother, Pongae?, ended up as an aide to the head of the Ming spies - is he giving info to the King or some of his aides? I thought I briefly saw a note passed....
