I got to like historicals after I got into Dae Jo Young, then Iron Empress plus the ones I watched online.... I couldn't really figure out what was going on tonight - it seems to take time to get the characters straight - saw a couple of familiar faces..... Hope some of us will post here as no one else is watching this now in Philly or CA, I don't think.....

In the Chicago Drama board it seems like it was aired in the Philly area last year. There is some actors from the IE, well I got that one of the princes was kipnapped and ordered to be killed and has to be for sombody closed to the king....I would like to know the time frame, it seems that is after the Goyeo Empire, but I'm not sure

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sejong_the_Greatwiki.d-addicts.com/Dae_Wang_SejongThe top is the wikipedia site with quite a bit of info and the second is about the drama - not much info about the time period but links for the actors. Right, I got that part about the kidnapping but couldn't keep track of all the people they introduced except for the king and the prime minister.....well, with 85 episodes to go I guess we'll catch on... ;-)

I was out of town last night and taped it and just watched it. A lot of guys with scraggly beards who all look familiar. Cant tell the good ones from the bad ones and no ladies in sight. I thought I recognized the IE's drunken son and a few other dudes.

Yeap, one of the princes is IE's drunken son, one of the ministers was one minister too on IE. Mara like always thanks for the info. Mara I'm sure that I'm going to enyoing this drama I read some reviews about it and It seems that is a very good drama. Yes Dodgerman, I think I reconagnize a voice, it's seem like the voice of the financial minister of IE, the Queen's father. Stay tune!

Before Mother' dead upset, or whatever name was that drama, there was a hystorical drama that I missed, because I thought it might be "boring", what at mistake, I think the best Korean drama are the hystorical.

latina, I don't know much about the Chicago board - I follow the California board as up til now we were watching the same drama although they were two weeks to two months ahead. I have been watching WMBC here in NY/NJ for several years. On Saturday and Sunday, going backwards has been Three Brothers, Empress Chun Chu (Iron Empress), Mom's Dead Upset, DaeJoYoung, Chill Sisters, Thank You Life and Farewell to Tears - hope that helps.....
DJY was my first historical and after watching the three modern weekend dramas I was very upset at first but I got into it, really enjoyed it and have since watched others here and online.....

Sunday's episode, #3, was cut in an important part, I think. One minute the little prince was walking outside the gate and next he was sitting next to his attendant who was hanging upside down dying. We didn't find out why that happened even though later on it appeared the king ordered it or at least condoned it - I found that very annoying - I'm sure there were other scenes that could have been cut. I don't know how long the original episode is - with Iron Empress, they cut 15 minutes..... but then the show started at 9:10 and now it starts at 9:00 so hopefully less is cut out.... I'm also a bit vague as to the plot but the characters are starting to look more familiar at least....;-)

From the Wkipedia article I saw, I figured out that the crying Crown prince becomes the Great Sekong. Yes, the ministers with the Goofy hats are starting to look more familiar so its easier to figure out who is doing what to whom. This is almost 500 years after IE, you'd think someone would have told the ministers how goofy they look in the hats.

hello everybody!
Just dropped back in to see if this board was still alive. Glad to see that it is. Do we have a moderator? Can we start new threads?
I'm thrilled to see a historical again (Sejong). Didn't much like 3 bros except for Umi's story and I never got into Happiness is Windy , or whatever.

Hey Puppy - Welcome back! A few of us have been holding the fort here - mainly me, Dodgerman and latina - don't know if there is or isn't a moderator - but I was able to make the new topic for the new show but not a whole new section like the previously aired ones - so we are just using the general board unless you know how to do it......hope you stick with us!

Puppy welcome back! Yes Mara I think the episode was cut. I was readying about King Sejong, now undestand a little more the drama. But I'm still confused about why the "blue ministers" don't want him, the trouble prince(future King Sejong), and neither the "red ministers". I think that this drama is going to become one of my favorites!
