Geez, this one seems worse so far than the other two TV Novels - the little girl ate all that ginseng while the other kid fell into the outhouse - it's a bit stupid - I'll give it some more time - hope it gets a little better, at least watchable....I must say the doc's real daughter is adorable - the one he thinks is his is not too cute....and there was what's her name from Bokhui like I thought....

Yes, and the maid from Bokhui's Sister in law played Yeogu's mother in King of Legends.

Are we not jumping the gun too soon... like any drama this has starting trouble and trying to establish characters who will eventually become bone of contention among many including us .. give them another 20 episodes and will know where they want to take us for a ride which is supposedly 120 episodes a welcome change from the last one of 175 episodes...

yes sara79 I'm going to give it a few weeks, my son welcomes the new music and the opening of those house flipping, I dare to change the channel last night, and he told me to go back, lol. I hope that gets better, I don't like the depressing feeling of this drama...

OK, let me get this straight: * Poor guy has one night stand with married woman * Married woman's husband goes into the woods for 9 months *Married woman hides in thatched-roof hut in front of bigger house for 9 months, wearing very loose hanbok *Both children are blind, as is everyone in the village *She gives birth at home and dumps baby on her hookup *Poor guy sacrifices baby to be killed by evil spirits to trick them, thinking they're killing rich baby *He's friends with hobbit man *Switches babies and tells hobbit man baby is dead all the while bringing the baby to his wife *Hobbit man passes doctor on the road with baby, then sees baby back at home and doesn't realize it's the same baby. *Hobbit man finds 500 year old ginseng *The wife starves baby but leaves her in room with said ginseng *Baby eats ginseng * Not one person blames wifey for leaving precious ginseng with little kid, as they would today if the ginseng were, oh, I don't know, a gun. *Somebody's in-law was coming to stay with them, but I don't know who these people are yet. Am I getting two or more characters confused? *Doctor is old and seems to have no wife. Or does he? *This is either confusing or completely stupid and far fetched or I'm having cognitive difficulties.

lol....poodlepal - you pretty much summed it up perfectly.....
Your last two points.....the maid from Bokhui and her kid are staying with the friend of the poor guy - the poor guy had left his baby with them at the beginning before he brought the baby to the doc's house as the decoy baby.....and I don't think the doc is that old but since the beginning I don't recall any mention of a wife.....
latina, I like the beginning as well where everything look like cute little papers opening up.....

Past experience with dramas is if they start out sucky, they will end sucky, but we watch to see just how sucky it ill be, haha. I'm still confused about some characters too, but as I've said, I haven't been watching with my full attention.
I can't stand to look at Ginseng man, I don't like the face he makes or the way he does his mouth, I hope the next flash forward has him gone somewhere far. Please.

Doc said that wife died during child birth of their baby. This drama is almost like Dear sister, the girl looks just like Boukhui, she is so nice and positive, but abuse for her mother and stepfather..., what happen to the two older kids???, now she has a little sister? mara the beginning of this drama it is much better that the others, I miss the songs of regular dramas...

Thanks, latina - I guess I missed that part about the doc's wife dying in child birth.....
I thought the Ginseng Man's boy was a little bit grown-up of the original little boy - the little girl is new and the GM's wife mentioned something about someone sending money - I assumed she meant the older girl....
Looks like the father and his real daughter are having a meeting tonight....his fake daughter has a bad attitude problem....not going to school.....
Yes, the 8 year jump was a bit of a relief, dodgerman - another FF will help - I will also try to wait til that happens.....

Hello Grace-Yes, I also am having trouble reading the subs. It's quite annoying since now I have to concentrate on that instead being able to get a glimpse of the show.
I am still on the fence about this drama. I used to laugh at the warning regarding 15 and under viewing, but this one isn’t for younger kids. The verbal and physical abuse is appalling to me. Plus playing God with a child's life and future is unreal and cruel.
I had a school concert last night that ran long. Can someone post what happened? Thanks

darla, they seem to be giving quite a review of the previous episode the first few minutes each night - I don't remember that much in the previous TV Novels....
Anyway, what I remember, the adopted daughter is selling herbs in the market that she picked and there is a young boy, don't know where he came from, who seems to beat her at the various shops that buy herbs. They have a couple of run-ins - at one point he was chasing a rabbit and she caught it and that caused a disagreement. Then the man who worked for the doc goes to the young boy and asks him if he will come to work with him in Seoul selling meds. Then the doc goes by adopted daughter and questions her about the herbs - she is quite knowledgeable and says they taste better than a 500 year old ginseng that she tasted - of course, the doc calls her a liar...but then the doc's driver comes back and buys up all her herbs. The elder daughter of the Ginseng Man returns home and says she wants to get married and won't be a maid supporting the family any more. The GM tells adopted daughter, sorry don't remember her name, that she will have to get a maid's job now....other stuff happened but my fingers are a bit tired...lol...hope that helps.

Here's what I remember: * Sam is selling herbs, now about 12 years old. *She doesn't sell enough herbs because future boyfriend is underselling her. She gets beaten up for that, because of course it is always the responsibility of a 12 year old to determine a selling price, and of course its really easy, it's not like you need, I don't know, a degree in marketing to do it correctly. Or at least be an adult *Poor guy is bossing around his biological daughter Ginsuk (?) but she doesn't like it. * The boy selling herbs is picked up in a Model T by the poor guy/doctor family and taken to live with another little boy (?) and Bokhui's maid. * Ginsuk doesn't understand why poor guy is living with her and is a rude spoiled brat. Dr. Dad tells her it is because he saved her during the war. I think they think that other kid is dead, but of course she's really Sammy selling herbs on the street, who is actually the rich guy's daughter.
I know that in Korea (unlike the US) everyone is the same race and has the same dark brown hair and eyes, but seriously, is it really that easy to switch babies all over the place? Nobody ever notices a family resemblance or lack thereof, ever? Certainly not in Dramaland, lol!

Yes poodlepal it seems that it is very easy to switch babies in Kdrama.
In Seoul, how the poor guy's friend(the one who took care of the decoy baby for a while) is living in a big house with his wife and his sister? I don't get this part of the story, they suppose to be poor...
