I have only watched 2 K dramas so I don't know all the rules. But with 2 shows to go I don't see any wedding bells. Unless they jump 5 years ahead. The only sparks I saw were between Eunhu1 and SJ and he is too compromised. JT is gone but they were just good friends. He was a good guy. The VP is a nice looking fellow and very competent but I see no sparks from Eunhui. He obviously likes her.
Any reason why she can't just stay single for a while and join the family business at the hotel? She can live with her (2) mothers and maybe the VP (if he stays in town) and they can move on into the future.
Cha should go to jail, YJ go work in a soup kitchen, and Gilrye, while an enabler, I have some sympathy for.
SJ will come out of this a sadder and wiser man. Down the road he should make someone a good husband.

Whatever you guys decide is fine with me - I can't access DF until I get home at the end of the month so just let me know what you decide to watch and I'll set it up - maybe two...in case someone saw one already or people have a lot of time.... Great idea, dodgerman, a set day to post - of course you could post after that day but not before so no spoilers.....

Sorry, what means DF? ? DramaFever is the largest online video site for the distribution of international televised content. check it out. Dramafever.com Thanks, sara79. I watched from Monday to last night, I just missed 5 seconds last night, it was that exact moment that I wasn't watching when Lora stated to talk? , how come she is reading the newspaper comment on it, and nobody looks surprised. This drama in the last 5 episode went from awful to bizarre, from SJ trying to kill Mr. Cha in the church, to VP holding to the house, factory and gold, and Lora Kim talking and screaming (saying she was reading to forgive Mr. Cha, when she said that her brother was first), to Mr. Cha getting into the house and wearing the bloody jacket. By now we know it's clear Eunhui will be end up alone...

I agree last night was a ridiculous episode. I must have looked away also when Lora started talking, I thought she was unable to do but the simplest things like eat. AND WTH? with S trying to kill Cha, he should have had that emotion episodes ago, a lot could have been avoided. Tonight I am afraid is going to be just as bizzare, but at least we are done with this. Now to figure out what to do next with our little forum family.

Last night was a trip to Bizarro land. All of a sudden LoraKIm is talking, Seongjae looked like he was trying to kill Cha, Cha looked normal with his suit, glasses and styled hair and then looked like a mental patient with his bloody clothes and goofy hair. Why is it that when Eunhui comes into the factory storeroom and sees Seongjae, the first thing out of her stupid mouth is "I'm sorry" Even he said, what do you have to be sorry for. Yuck.

Well, Korean dramas were my #1 hobby at 9:30 for 8 years. The first was arguably the best (Bizarre Bunch, considered a classic--they still have a board with over 1000 entries on the Chicago Board), and it's safe to say that the last was the worst.
Sara, what I meant was not so much "Why was there communist hysteria in Korea?" What I meant was, "Why did they have to take one of the most sympathetic characters on the show and make him the boss of torturers? Aren't we supposed to like this guy? And why did they make him a liar?" Mr Cha was no spy or communist. He did commit involuntary manslaughter, murder-for-hire, attempted murder, another murder-for-hire, and smuggled gold. He could have been punished for those things. When VP said he was a communist and had him tortured, he was almost sinking to his level.
If you notice, you never see a romance movie where the hero is Joe McCarthy or someone who tortures someone. You might find some sexy Navy SEALS or something, but never the guy who waterboards at Gitmo.
Fortunately, Seongjae is still basically a good man--woops! Tried to kill his father.
Anyway, I've seen the grand finale, and I can tell you that it is perfectly normal. Nah, I can't even believe that one. It is beyond weird, much worse than this last episode. Fortunately, Mr. Cha's eyesight completely turned perfect as he went crazy, saving him all that money from the optical store.

I think I am going to watch Emergency Couple on DF. It looks okay--a girl and boy meet in med school marry, divorce and meet again--will they re-fall in love??? The other shows---A New Leaf with Park Min Young(my favorite) and , Golden Cross are still airing in Korea so only a few shows have been translated. I will wait for them. Another one still airing is Shining Romance with Jo An who I also like.

I saw that, it looked good. I wonder if any of the "novels" are available. I feel like another round of torture 20 years after the Korean War, LOL!
Here we go. Time for the end of an era.

Final Episode=Worst, so basically Mr. Cha is the happiest character, he doesn't know what is going on, while everybody else is crying for him! The communist plot should have been used for him to write about all the crimes that he committed, died of torture, now he was accused of a crime he didn't committee( like Eunhui's father) and died and his family will been know as murdered and a communist family. how hard was to do that?, we don't know if Eunhui is with VP as her sister or girlfriend. awful end, very disappointed

Yes, the last episode was quite an anti-climax and let-down...then again the whole drama was.... Cha dancing around....and the rest of them crying like latina said....
I don't know why Eunhui and the VP were in the US...but it seemed like she and Seongjae might get something going again. The only good parts, I guess, were to see the baby of the aunt and uncle and that the two women married to the brothers were both expecting....

Unlike Bokhi and Samsaengi I could not identify with Eunhu.. she is not central to the drama.. she is one of many characters. .. She did not have same focus as the other two did like whenever an opportunity presented itself to better themselves and others around them they seized upon it.... I could not care who she eventually ends up with... Jongatae dead.. VP is no good because of Korean social norms... if it is Seongjae so be it.. may be they deserve each other.. Seongjae presented a pathetic character with no clear objectives in life.. As VP's character gained in strength Seongjae petered out.. what can you say about Granny who lived in her own world fed by Cha family...I still feel Yeongju is a better actress and she would have suited better for Eunhui's role.. May be they should have revived Lora Kim a little earlier in the drama to get a little more mileage from her...Cha's character was thrown around from business, politics, smuggling , hit and run to murder...and in the process lost its impact All TV Novel writers seem to have attended the same workshop where it is drilled into them that it is a must to take a perfectly good plot and thrash it to death with stupid female and male leads, all crimes including murder must be forgiven in the last episode and said evil character is anointed as a saint . I always wonder if producers or writers ever get to read forums like this and take some input from the viewers. People love drama, whether it's in their lives, or just watching it..It's to escape from reality. That was my escape at 9:30 on week nights for last few years. !!! p.s: I enjoyed watching with you guys and shared my thoughts.. whatever I said it was with no malice and good fun.. Hopefully, WMBC reverses its decision and caters to Korean drama audience..

Thanks for all your contributions, Sara, Mara, Dodgerman, Tom, Latina and Grace (and sorry if I forgot anyone who's still around. It seems like we lost Myoko, LInda and April somewhere along the line.) I enjoyed going on this board. It helped me through some tough times (which, sadly, haven't ended yet. My "dream job" wasn't the dream I thought it would be, for example.)
If there was a theme to this show, it would be "disintegration." Mr. Cha disintegrated from normal, guilty person to a sociopathic murderer to an immobile mental patient. My theory: he died at the end, and it was his soul who was dancing around. Did you see the looks on the faces of the other characters when he did that? Priceless.
Eunhui disintegrated from a plucky bookkeeper to a doormat to an extra in her own show. VP at first improved from a brat to a noble gentleman, then disintegrated to a thug Seongjae from sensitive photographer to doormat to would-be murderer Lora from strong businesswoman to brain-damaged coma patient Madame Jeong from glamorous businesswoman to annoying sister-in-law with a dubious husband
Only some minor characters basically remained unchanged or improved a little. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I think we should all test some shows that are readily available on DramaFever for free. I will check "Wild Chives" and "Emergency Doctors" since they both look pretty good and not too deadly serious. I may also check the "Novel" which may be on YouTube.

A crummy ending to a crummy show. By making Cha a lunatic, he never had to be punished for his crimes--manslaughter, murder of the witness, attempted murder, fraud , embezzlement, theft, smuggling. With everyone visiting him, the writers tried to make him sympathetic. Even Sa in the last TV Novel went to trial and spent a few years in jail. YUch!!!I am going to try out Emergency couple on dramafever.

Mr. Sa did? I thought he just drank the same poison he gave Mr. Ginseng-Digger Dad.
