When the bandit dude captured all the slaves and asked them Who is Damdeok, I expected them all to get up like in Spartacus when Tony Curtis says I'm Spartacus and all the slaves follow. Didnt the slaves see the movie???

hahahaaha, a coworker and I were talking about that movie yesterday, we couldn't remember who was Kick Douglas friend in the movie... I thought that somebody else will say that he was Damdeok.

The Prince is finally free. The over emoting is comical and he had flat out raccoon eyes tonight. Hwang Hoe is the new Jack Sparrow, he even has that drunken stance.

Well, I'm not familiar with Jack Sparrow - I looked it up and saw something about Johnny Depp. Anyway, Hwang Hoe is sort of a cutie - I see he was in both DJY and Iron Empress although I don't remember the roles he played. asianmediawiki.com/Kim_Myeong-SuYes, it certainly seems that Damdeok is wearing eye makeup....he certainly has a way of inspiring his fellow Gorguryeons (sp?) Nice cliff hanger last night.....

This drama is getting so bored, in my opinon, they should change at least for an episode where ther is not somebody who is trying to kill raccoon eyes hahahaha. I was reading on the Chicago board that this drama is based on a comic book which is about the Great Gwangaeto, some of the generals name are from that comik book, which are different from the historical names...

I know the actor playing Hwang Hoe as Gom Manchan or something like that from DJY; I definitely agree with the cute part and ok, I'll admit, I wasn't bored but I was laughing so hard tonight that I missed half of the translation and will have to re-watch it later on.
Ok, so let's see how many people want Damdeok dead now. We have the Houyan King and his two remaining sons; Fengba; Mr. T/Seol Doan, his sister(?) Seol Ji is very beautiful by the way, I don't think I've ever seen her before; One of Mr. T's cronies; the slave master dude; and the Prime Minister. Eight people, did I miss anyone?
I don't understand something here. The guy that calls the Prime Minister father, his name is Ko Un but the Prime Minister's name in Gae Kang, I think... how does that work? Wouldn't Ko Un be Ko Mu's relative, or did it all get mixed up in translation?

Linda I missed that one with the Primer Minister, but I know that Dameok's best friend is the Primer Minister's son. I agreed with you the girl is beautiful... I love that actor Hwang Hoe, maybe from IE, I think this drama has such of good actors, but something is not working out for me, I can paying any attetion to it....

I do remember in an earlier episode the Prime Minister came in the middle of a meeting to report that his son had sent a tip about the Houyan Army strategey. I don't remember now if it's this same Ko Un guy. If it is, then that would be really interesting.

I think we're getting the Prime Minister and the Head General confused. I think the Head General is KoMu and his son is KoChang - the one who was tortured and quickly recovered a few episodes ago.... The Prime Minister is Gae YonSoo who we know from a couple of other historicals.... asianmediawiki.com/Gwanggaeto,_The_Great_Conqueror Plus I love the Mohe hairdos.....Shin Hong or whatever he's called now aka Mr. T, another young general whose hair top is braided and the young woman with the green stuff in her braids. ;D

I know what you mean about something not working out with this show, Latina, but I'm laughing so much now that I look forward to each upcoming episode.
Mara, I do know that Ko Mu is Ko Chang's father, but the undercover guy that was stationed in Houyan as a merchant in episode 1, I think, his name is Ko Un. Unless the translator made a mistake and should have put Gae Un. Maybe he's supposed to be an illegitimate son who Gae Yonsoo took in?
The other Mohe general with the chops and braids looks like he belongs in a Final Fantasy game, lol. Did I miss it or did they really not translate his name for us? I wonder if he's Seol Doan's brother...

I really wish in these historical drams they would come a little closer with the character's age and the actor's. damdeok is 17 when he becomes King which means in the time we are seeing , he is 15 or 16. The Eyeliner dude looks like he is 30. I guess they have no teen stars to take these parts. In the Great King Sejong, all the princes looked older than they were historically.

The names have been confirmed for me now, Ko Un is Gae Yon Soo's son. I just don't understand why Ko Un has the Ko surname. The actor playing Dammang would've been more convincing playing Damdeok age-wise, but TaeGon Lee has that rugged, beastly look that fits the warrior demeanor, I guess. I like his snarl . I don't trust Hwang Hoe somehow, I get the feeling he's going to become a traitor later on.
