I clicked on the link to the show in the one you gave, Mara, and looking at the cast, it lists Ko Mu as Damdeok's grandfather...... Linda, I guess I didn't read my own link and I can't find what you are talking about....help.....

duh......right in front of me......okay, so the current king is Damdeok's father and Ko Mu is his grandfather.....so how do you think the current king, Iryeon and Ko Mu are related.....not father and son.....that seems really weird - maybe Ko Mu is the grandfather on the maternal side.....oy.....

It's a mystery but I think Ko Mu and Iryeon are father and son rather than Ko Mu being the queen's father.
Lol@Linda, I agree about Damdeok.

I don't remember anything really important happening...
As for Ko Mu and Iryeon's relationship, they seemed too distant to be father and son now that I look at it, so he really could be Soli's father.

www.dramacrazy.net/korean-drama/king-gwanggaeto-the-great-episode-list/Site for watching this online. There is definitely a political issue - even though Damdeok came up with the complicated strategy to win the battle, the Prime Minister is from a different clan and evidently too many of Damdeok's clan got merit awards - land and money - from their actions in battle. The Prime Minister and his clan homies seem quite upset about that. Because Damdeok took some actions on his own instead of being awarded he is being punished, much to the chagrin of almost everyone. Supposedly he is going to be a regular solidier instead of a princely soldier....

There's always some evil-minded person or persons with bad intent among the good. I can't wait till they get rooted out.

I did some snooping and found that Ko Mu is the queen's father. Her name is Ko Ya.

Damdeok needs to learn patience and to collect sufficient evidence before making his case.

I'm a bit surprised Damdeok fell for the trap of the people being attacked by bandits - after all he sort of figured out something was wrong with the pipe before that young lady, not sure who she is, talked him out of playing it and he threw it in the pond......doesn't look good for him, but he must be alive - we have a long way to go...
dodgerman - I watch a lot of tv shows online since I am too cheap to have a DVR or Tivo and I can only tape what I am watching or not watching if I'm out. ;-) The good thing now is that both our dramas are available online - I watch American tv online as well from time to time if I miss an episode of one of the few shows I watch like the Amazing Race....
Yes, that's Bongi's Mom - amazing how different she looks with the period costume....and she's a lot more reserved....

Damdeok might look old but isn't he supposed to be like 17 or so now? So he's still naive, trusting, and has a lot to learn. Man, I wish he had wiped that pipe across Murang Bao's lips ha ha.
