It's on HBO but there are ways to watch it. As you can guess, graphic violence to go with some court intrigue.

It's on Sunday night at 9pm. I have read the books and it's pretty good to read.
If I had to draw any parallels, Korean history is a lot like the War of the Roses in English history. Lots of fighting for the throne. Many different factions supporting and attacking each other. Depending on who you backed, your family could be uplifted or devastated

I read 2 of the Game of Thrones books but if was confusing because the TV shows do not follow the books exactly. We saw the first 3 years on DVD from my library and last year ON HBO which I got for free for some deal my FIOS. I also got it for free again this year.

It doesn't look like anyone has much to say about this drama.
Does anyone want to watch "Unusual Family?" I'm up to episode 11, and the plot is just kicking in.
It's very Unusual indeed, like nothing you've ever seen!
There is a rich, medium and poor family.
Round-faced Dad plays Round-faced Dad (medium family). Curly-haired, bespectacled Granny plays herself in the poor family. Each family has one shallow girl, the poor family has an angelic daughter with two potential boyfriends (one of whom she accidentally stole something from), and the two richer families have hot sons! Yes, completely unique, LOL!
No, seriously, it seems cute, and so far nobody has been hit by a car, carried on someone's back or had a transplant, but there's time!

I really like 6 Flying Dragons but I guess there's not too much to say...about two weeks left. I'll take a look at the Asian wiki page for Unusual Family over the weekend . ..

They have mentioned Bi Dam'revolt a few times. We saw a historical with Bi dam. He was a warrior and gets into court and becomes very powerful. There was a Queen on the throne. I dont remember if it was in Silla, Baekje or Goryeo

I remember BiDam from Queen Seondeok which I watched many years ago when I first got FIOS - I had the premium Korean channels as a free bonus for a few months and that was playing on one of them.....it might be on DF now - a good drama.....

Yes, that is the Bidam they are referring to. Apparently, the Nameless organization came out of that rebellion. It actually sounds like they are a group working to control things behind the scenes regardless of national affiliations.

What's coming on after Flying Dragons? I'll be able to watch a longer show now, starting--well, this week, actually, no more lesson plans! I probably will not join something with beheadings and so on, I don't like violence or action movies.
Yes, check out Unusual Family. It would make a nice non-violent supplement. 3 families, perfect daughter who's supporting ancient Korean tradition (mulberry farming in this case), bitches with pocketbooks, hotties for everyone including the bitches--what more could you want? Oh yes, a transplant and secret baby? No sign yet, but I'm up to episode 13, so there's a ways to go!

I could not believe in episode 43 when they got back from MIng and The swordsman Teacher was telling stories about Ming, that he pulled up the corners of his eyes to make them "Chinese"

What I found interesting about this drama was the different vision Jeong Do Jun had as the vision for the country compared to what happened. A lot of the conflicts from this time still resonate today with the current North South division.
