I will definitely do 2 by Monday. I probably will also start Miss Korea to fill in since Melody of Love is only 30 minutes.

Okay, dodgerman, I will watch Miss Korea as well - I was watching Cunning Single Lady/Sly and Single Again that madman999 mentioned when we were discussing Emergency Couple as it has a similar story with a divorced couple possibly reuniting - I guess I will find that out tonight when I watch the last episode....

Watched about half of the first episode of Golden Cross - have no idea what's going on as I was too interested in figuring out from which dramas I knew many of the actors... asianwiki.com/Lee_Dae-Yeon - most recently seen in Eunhui but also Famous Chil Princesses for those who have been watching for quite a few years as well as Great King Sejong and The Road Home asianwiki.com/Jung_Bo-Suk - Lee Kaigu in DaeJoYoung asianwiki.com/Jung_Ae-Ri - too many to list but James' wife in Smile Donghae who was on last night's 1 am episode on WMBC coincidentally... asianwiki.com/Kim_Kyu-Cheol - most recently Love My Love plus DaeJoYoung. King Gwanggaeto...

I just saw the first 2 episodes. This is really dark and intense. I was in H Mart the Korean supermarket I shop in & the actress who plays the murdered girl's Mom was on the box of something . I was looking for something else & recognized her face on the box.

That's Jung AeRi, dodgerman - in many dramas.
Yes, after watching the first two episodes I agree 100% - dark and intense is a good description and a bit gory as well. So this sort of reminds me of IRIS with a secret group that controls the country like in that one - a scary idea.
I am still confused though -what else is new....lol....The man who really killed the young girl, aka Lee Kaigu, is the son-in-law of who - a former PM - that was a bit confusing - they are showing the names and titles in Korean but only briefly if at all in English...and his wife was cheating on him when he was cheating on her, right? Now who the heck is the photographer? Whose side is he on?
So the dead girl's father, an accountant in the bank, was bribed to change some figures - that was a bit confusing - and then he seemed to regret it and tried to return the bankbook. However, they evidently picked his daughter out deliberately - that also was weird - they couldn't have know that the man, Seo is his name? - would end up killing her and thus being able to frame the father - quite a lot of coincidences.....

The bad guys(the lawyer and the finance minister) in this drama are comically bad. They are like dumb and dumber!
The action scenes are not bad. The lead guy is pretty good at karate/tae Kwon do.

Finished the first four episodes - I am liking this one - it is quite different from other dramas I have seen recently - the closest I guess would be IRIS as I said above. Interestingly today in the NY Times is a front page story about the family behind the company that owned the Korean ferry that sank. Reading the article I couldn't help thinking about what kind of drama could be made - of course, with less fatalities. But the interrelationships between companies and government and regulatory groups - they even mentioned the finance authority mentioned in Golden Cross makes one wonder how realistic it might be.
Yes, I agree that the lead is pretty darn good with martial arts. I wonder what will happen with the lady prosecutor when she finds out who the 'sponsor' was.....

Saw ep 3 last night and was glad that it began with a recap. The bad guys are really evil. I guess the hero is the "murderer's" son and don't know if there will be a girl he falls for.

Also forgot to say how interesting it was that the mom never believed her husband could have murdered the daughter whereas it seemed for a while at least that the brother was wavering.
Also a Eunhui moment when the prosecutor-to-be loses his prosecutor appointment because he is the son of a (alleged) murderer....I guess things don't change much over the decades even though it was said a few times that it was against Korean law to blame the family....

The conflict between the son and the father is that the son sort of sees him as a loser who has lived his life wrong by being honest and caused his family suffering. The father went to jail previously due to the bank strike. So initially, he believes his dad is a criminal and initially wants to live a life completely opposite of him.

Yes, madman999, I do remember in one of the first two episodes, I guess, that there was a big family fight over dinner in which the son did yell at his dad and the daughter basically supported him after discussing their financial situation when the mom was upset that he didn't have the money to buy the restaurant she wanted..... But still it seems a big jump to believe his dad could have killed his sister considering how close they were....particularly since he is a law student and should know better....his father's prison time, to me, seemed more of a political issue than a criminal one..... Anyway, I am enjoying this.

The son is kind of upset that his father committing crime will affect his job prospects as a prosecutor and tarnish his reputation. It's a little selfish/self directed but people project alot based on their job status.
Also Kind of silly that you can be guilty by association like that but I guess that's the way it is in Korea... Well at least in kdrama fantasy world!

I thought that the son felt his dad was the murderer before he found out that he was not going to get his prosecutor appointment.....I certainly could see his anger after his appt. was refused....
I guess the guilt by association is a remnant of the olden times...in many of the Korean historical dramas I have seen often the whole family is punished when one person is found to be treasonous, etc....or else the family goes into slavery...
Even as recent as the 1970's such as in TV Novel Eunhui - the last one we saw on WMBC - her father was supposedly a murderer and it was a huge problem for her - that was one of the major themes of the whole series....
