Watched ep 14 last night - Do Yun is now all alone it seems in fighting against the GC - Yi Re and the reporter are being held somewhere and the Assemblyman was murdered. At the end of the ep., Do Yun was in the car of Yi Re's father holding a gun to his head.
This is getting very scary - the whole idea of a small group of people who manage to control the whole government, press, etc. is really scary imo.....reminds me a bit of IRIS.
I am curious as I do not watch any American TV dramas - is there something similar to this on American tv or is it a Korean thing....

So Yi Re's grandpa is a governor - that's what they called him at the meeting or is he retired from some high up government post?

The Korean TV has strict regulations on advertising and product placement. So you will see the badges for cars obscured even though you make out the models. One thing you will see advertised prominently are Samsung phones and coffee chains though.
I think shows like this are similar to Fox's 24.
Ye Ri's grandfather is some sort of former government minister. Seems to be in semi retirement officially but wielding power through his underlings. And he seems to be the head of that evil organization... Golden Cross!

I just saw episode 13. If Bad lawyer and Bad twitchy dad really wanted to Kill Do Yun, why not blow up his car or shoot him instead of sending the suit wearing thugs with pipes?

I will watch ep 15 tonight. The show 24 that madman was referring to was on Fox for about 7 years and came back this summer--it is extremely tense and full of double crosses, moles, and a lot of things getting blown up.

I don't think I can find 24 online - and I don't have Netflix or Hulu Premium - will look into it....one of these days....I am getting more into the Japanese dramas on DF - after all that is the language I am studying....lol....that's how I discovered Korean dramas to being with - years ago WMBC had Japanese programming at 10 pm and when I tuned in early I found kdrama....lol....

Episodes 16 & 17--no plastic surgery, no beard, no glasses, not even a mole??? I guess he wanted to screw with their heads. His Mom was pretty smart to catch on-- if Evil Lawyer & Twichy dad had brains, they would have taken him to eat in Mom's restaurant, not a fancy place.

Episode 20 The End-- I liked the show but hated the ending. The bad guys are "punished" in the last 10 minutes of the show--no disgrace, no retribution and the last scene set it up for Golden Cross 2. I hated the girl Prosecutor who not only knew her Dad was a double murderer and did nothing but also, she never tried to get the Evil Lawyer punished for trying to kill her. She had him on tape saying to get rid of her but she does nothing because it might come back onto her Twitchy dad. I still have to finish YAAS but what are we watching next? ?
