The son was also already affected by the dad going to jail previously for the bank strike obstruction. So I think maybe this just added to the it. Plus the dad had to be convincing enough that he did it because he didn't know who was watching him. Crooked lawyers and cops all around him.
He might have been also feeling guilty about not keeping an eye on his sister better. Koreans are pretty high on this responsibility thing.

Okay,madman999, I give in....lol....Yes, the dad was really convincing. I think the son was trying quite hard to get in touch with his late sister after she left for Hong Kong - but she never answered his calls or texts. And she was not a really young girl probably her early twenties, I think or quite late teens. Had she been to college? I don't remember...
But interestingly, I think, the mom who had been quite angry with her husband about the lack of money and had many fights in the first couple of episodes and whose daughter was after all brutally murdered never seemed to have any doubt about him being innocent....

The father and daughter did have a great relationship which made it atypical for him to kill her even over a fit of rage. But then again, finding out your daughter is doing something immoral might send a straight laced guy like the Dad over the edge at least that was the crooked lawyers plan.
The mother probably never believed that the Father killed the daughter from the beginning and sensed there was a bigger conspiracy going on but was helpless to do anything about it.
Key theme of this drama is the David versus Goliath angle. This shadowy organization has the power to make people disappear, destroy careers and even banks and the decent people don't have the power and ability to stop them... yet!

Just watched episode 5--glad for the recap before the show. As we know from other shows, the hero will be stymied at every turn until the last episode when everything will be resolved.

I just finished ep 5 as well - this is stressing me out a bit....I remember feeling the same way with another drama but don't remember which one now...
I of course am sort of confused as well. Don't quite understand the role of the woman called President something or other - she is the one who 'procured' the dead girl for whatever his name is....the prosecutor's father....and in this episode, she went to the hospital where that reporter is lying in very bad shape - I assumed he was dead - and put something in his pocket....

President Hong has a behind the scenes role and a backstory related to the underlying story. For now, I will say that she's an agent of Golden Cross and facilitated the circumstances that is leading to the blackmail of a couple of characters. How and why she is in that role will be revealed.

Just finished Ep 6 of GC - I do really like it and am starting to learn the names of the people...lol....everyone seems to be backstabbing everyone else - Pres. Jang makes the statement to Pres. Hong in front of Prosecutor Seo about having a companion to go to Hong Kong....whatever - I like it.
Did you enjoy You Are All Surrounded, madman999 - I think I'm up to Ep 13 or so....

You're All Surrounded is not bad. Not the best police drama comedy I've watched but overall enjoyable.
As for Golden Cross, there is going to be betrayal, double crossing as well as people having to make tough decisions. And just when you think the good guys are going to win.....?

Just watched finished episode 7 & 8. If they do an autopsy on Dead da, they might not find the drug that was in the needle but they should be able to find the spot where the needle was administered and the bad guy left the needle on the side table. The guy playing Michael is so good as the smiles and smirking--he was the bad guy in Ghost which was about cyber crime

I think I might be a couple of eps ahead of you, dodgerman. I'm enjoying it quite a bit even though I am confused as to who is on whose side and who is doublecrossing who...lol...
Yes, that actor, Uhm KiJoon, is excellent - he has a baby face but is quite evil behind it - I saw Ghost as well....

I just finished ep 11 - Do Yun just started working for Michael. I guess that Do Yun is just playing Yi Re because he is pretty sure that her father killed the sister but they do make a nice couple. Still confused as to who's on whose side - guess it will be clearer as I progress....

That's the funny part of this drama- seeing once allies turn on each other. Sooner or later, everyone realizes they are pawns on a bigger chess board and someone higher up is pulling the strings on a bigger conspiracy. It's not a simple case of a dad killing his daughter.
