You make a good point, mara. I'll draft the letter tonite and post it with the snail and email addresses.
Eny, will you and brooklyn, as the founding members, alert the Philly and Chi Boards and ask if they will join our campaign?
PS: I too emailed WMBC on three occasions and received a personal reply once, a very brief and uninformative reply. Maybe it's because I was just one voice. I'm not wildly hopeful, but there might be some power in numbers.

Sure thing, puppy. I'm on my own for now but will do.
I also wanted to let everyone know that I'll be out of State for a couple of weeks starting Monday, so please don't hurt me if I don't answer any emails or posts ;D.

I emailed WMBC (info@wmbctv.com) and sent a hard copy to Program Director, Mountain Broadcasting Corp., 99 Clinton Rd. West Calbwell, NJ 07006.
Basically I thanked them for airing Korean programs (it's always good to start with a compliment). I mentioned that the "Korean Wave" was HUGE in the Tri-State area, so huge that New York and New Jersey now has its own Korean Drama fan board with links to many Korean social and cultural intitutions. Most of the members, I explained, are English-speaking and loyal viewers of WMBC. Were thy aware, I asked, that through the efforts of the NY/NJ Board, viewership of the nightly subbed Korean dramas has increased tremendously? As a Board Moderator (I called myself that, tho I'm not, because titles help) I was writing to request an expansion of their subbed drama offerings. Most areas of the country, I remnded them, have access to several daily and/or weekly Korean dramas through basic cable while we, one of the largest and most populous, receive only two! I said the Board woud be happy to whatever we could to support a drive for more Korean dramas and that we were certain such an expansion wold increase their revenues.
That's basically it, with some "pleases" and "thank-yous".
Eny, come home soon. We'll miss you!

The board need to be updated with more dramas and info. Who's responsible? mecca9 - I believe Eastnewyorker, the admin of this board, is currently out of town - he posted to that effect. (ENYer, pardon me for opening my big mouth in your absence...... ) As far as I know, this board is aimed at those of us who watch WMBC (formerly Channel 63) in the NY/NJ/PA area - we only get the two dramas, unfortunately, that we discuss here...... There are plenty of other boards that discuss other kdramas as well as everything else under the sun.

fyi, I just called WMBC - the new drama will be starting next week - I think on the 13th or 14th.....the person that answered the phone just runs the tapes and he transferred me to the voicemail of one of the staff there. I left a message saying that I was one of many loyal English speaking viewers of the dramas. I thanked him for showing them. I also said it would have been nice to have the notice in English......

So does that mean we have a few more documentaries like Sword of Shilla to watch before another drama begins? I like a good documentary but last nite was like, "What?" At first I thought we were getting a historical and I was happy. Then these guys in suits start digging up ruins and going on and on about Roman workmanship. My jaw dropped. I'm glad they told you there was another , period.
I think WMBC needs to get a shot in the arm, stop with the endless infomercials, and become more responsive to viewers.

The above should read: I'm glad they told you there was another drama coming, mara. Otherwise we'd be limited to 3 Bros Sat and Sun, period. Plus whatever we can scare up on the web, or buy at waaay too high prices. (or borrow from the Philly Board's library.)
