[edited May 27th - I am separating our posts about Eunhui from the discussion about the end of Kdrama on WMBC....] I just called WMBC and was told there are no new weekday or weekend dramas after Eunhui is finished at this point! The woman on the phone said it has something to do with KBS. She said the station is looking for other options. She advised viewers to go to the WMBC TV website and send in a comment requesting new dramas. Here is the link: wmbctv.com/contact-us/I am in shock!

Hi. Just found your board looking for information why there was no new drama after Eunhui. Sorry if this has already been discussed before but have you watched the k-dramas on NTD ch 63.5? Most but not all are English subtitles? They have weekday and weekend dramas. They just finished Dream High and started Warrior Beak Dong-Soo at 11pm. They repeat 3x a day before the next episode. A new weekend drama starts at 8pm on Sat. Some don't have subtitles like the weekday Tree with Deep Roots at 8pm. Hope WMBC changes their mind. I found WMBC is repeating Dear My Sister everyday at 1 am right now. Found it by accident channel surfing.

I came across on some Korean Fan Board, a couple of viewers recommending an old TV series LOVERS. It has 20 episodes and they are readily available in full with English subtitles on Youtube. I have not seen LOVERS and can not vouch for it personally. Please check out the following links : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lovers_%28TV_series%29www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLUsVa2tAHA ( very first episode first part)

....Sorry if this has already been discussed before but have you watched the k-dramas on NTD ch 63.5? Most but not all are English subtitles?.... Thanks for reminding us and welcome! I have NTD which is actually a substation of WMBC on my FIOS cable. I used to watch it from time to time but the Chinese dubbing annoyed me particularly when I knew the actors from other dramas. I did watch a few of them on Dramafever. Most of the ones they showed were a bit old....

Dear Viewer,
Due to a programming change effective June 1, 2014, the Korean Drama segment will no longer air during WMBC-TV’S Korean programming. This was a management decision involving the availability of ongoing programming. We understand this was a popular show and hope viewers will find our new Korean programming equally enjoyable. We appreciate your interest in watching your programs.
Sincerely,
Tina L. Callahan
Receptionist
WMBC-TV The above was the response that I got from WMBC, sorry I will try to watch online and come back here, miss you guys!

What Korean programming? A bunch of Christian shows that aren't dubbed or subbed? That's enjoyable to whom? I guess the owners of the station, who are Korean Born-Again Christians. I guess Tina Callahan is the only person who can write in English well. It's rare to see letters about business decisions being written by receptionists.
Well, I know one thing. I will never again watch this station. Not because I don't forgive them* or anything like that, but because there is not one other thing on that station that is even bearable. Cindy Crawford's Rare Melon? Get Rid of your Turkey Neck? Montell Williams and the Juicer? They don't even have their Mormon archaeology shows or the lonely chef anymore.
* From what I understand, the KBS stopped sending over the top dramas after "Smile Donghae" and has now stopped sending the "Novels" to anyplace. It might not be Channel 20's fault so I sort of feel sorry for them, but it doesn't sound like they're too concerned about their falling ratings.

They don't have advertisers on most of the programs all but the last few episodes have had that rice cooker. I remember the rice cooker being on everyone of them years ago when I started watching, also KIKI Jewelers doesn't advertise before the program either, so I don't think they care what they show. They must have to pay for these "novel" or dramas and since there is limited ads they are not cost effective.

I got the same receptionist written email....more than annoying. The California folks still get numerous kdramas so I don't think there is any real problem with KBS...and there are other Korean broadcasters as well... bcjkdramasincalifornia.runboard.com/t169772

I'm curious as to what they're showing--I think it is all religious programming. I wonder if they think the K-dramas are too scandalous for them. What a shame. I'm really struggling, trying to find a place where both my mother and I can read a 13 inch laptop instead of a 27 inch television.
Do you know if Dramafever will stream with an Apple TV, Fire TV or one of those devices?

I stream DF on my TV with a Roku - you need wifi.....as far as I know at least....check their website for further info.....

There is a Korean drama on at 1am (WMBC channels 20 and 63.1 on cablevision). I cannot remember the name of the drama (Love My Sister, I think). It runs 30 to 40 minutes. It is one I have already seen. It is not listed by name in my TIVO guide but is part of a 4 to 5 hour segment (CBS KOREAN) beginning at 1am. The segment starts with the drama. Don't know if it will continue but it was there at 1am this morning. MQMT
