Then why don't they call the police? It's past the statute of limitations? No, they're just evil and want to beat him up because they like doing that sort of thing.

No one has much to say about this show, and I, as one of the only (or the only) person watching, am about to pull the plug. I can't bear to watch nice people get beaten up day after day for literally no reason. For god's sake, they wrecked a freakin' movie theater. For that they deserve to have a hit put on them by the mob?
Figure skating next Saturday. Won't watch then. May be done altogether.

I'm watching sort of...recording it then fast forwarding...don't know why I'm even watching...I'm pissed Guitar man is ratting him out all the time, he could have just said he didn't know where he was...what a wimp. For some reason in my head I thought he may be rich and just acting poor to do his own thing...but I guess I'm wrong. I cannot stand Motel girl...she's such a pain in the ass with her stupid acting like she is a 6 year old.

Shinja reminds of Yeongju in the TV Novel - when she doesn't get her way with the guy she wants and can't have - she throws some sort of fit...
I don't understand why the guitar guy rated out Chanhyuk either - they didn't even beat him up to make him talk....

This one is getting very depressing - very violent as well - even though I watched numerous historical dramas with swordplay, beatings, etc. this is almost too much....but of course I am sticking with it.... ;-)

I think it is because this beating was so personal whereas the historical battle scenes are so epic that they are almost slapstick. This how is very depressing . I cant figure out how it can come out good. The whole thing with Chan ock and Guitar Man is creepy. Chanwoo cant end up with Tutor Boy's sister because their Mom would freak. And we know what is going to happen th Chan Hyuk from the show's description.

I am trying to forget what I read in the show's description - I think it was very poor to have such a spoiler.... I really don't think that Chanock and the guitar man are that creepy - just because she is a little slow doesn't mean she can't find happiness - he seems like he would be very devoted to her but he did rat out Chanhyuk.....so he is probably ashamed of himself for doing so.... That makes sense what you said about the beating being personal...thanks, dodgerman - I feel a drop better.

So Choo Choo is going to enlist in the Army and just disappear without telling anyone where is he going?? He didnt tell his bro, his friend or Tutor Boy. It must be a cultural thing that makes the poor characters so subservient to the wished of the rich. Could you see an American boy not saying anything to the girl's dad except I'm Sorry and then agree to join the Army and not see the girl he loves??

It looks that way, dodgerman....I guess he decided that it was either enlist or die more or less after seeing what happened to his brother...
Also interesting - I am confused as to what year this drama takes place - I thought all Korean young men had to serve in the army - they do now I am quite sure....

Mara, I think ChooChoo is supposed to be around 17 or 18(even though he looks much older) so maybe he hadnt been called up to serve yet. In Eunhui & Sammy, the boys seemed to get called up after they finish HS. I think that this takes place in the same time frame.

I can't stand this show any more. I was watching "Flowers in the Attic" and it was more cheerful. Next week is "Lizzie Borden," and that will be more cheerful as well, no doubt.
As for the spoiler--it reminds me of that movie a few years ago (I won't give the name, in case someone will be--well, spoiled). The exact same thing happens.

The actor Choi SooJong was actually 34 at the time - he was born in 1962.....but as far as his age in the drama - I thought he finished high school when he was still living in that small town - his father wanted him to apply for some civil service something or other and Hyokyung wanted him to go to an art academy - so I thought he would be 17 or 18 then and four years have passed at least so he should be around 22.....Hyokyung was a couple of years younger - she is the same age as Chanwoo....

Why couldnt ChooChoo have told Thug Dad that he would just take his family and Shin Ja and move ouit of Seoul to another town like Incheon or Busan?? Chan Woo could stay in Seoul until he finished school and them become a lawyer anywhere. It makes more sense than being forced to join the Army
