I like this drama, thanks for the reference mara. myoko I agree with you and that scene;). I got confiused abot the time line. The narrataror said something about 37BC I guess when CEO mom(Sonseseo, sic) was shooting arrow with Chumo (the KIng), them her first son Biryun apperead as the king on 341, I guess this is wrong, or Biryun is no her son, but a greatgreat grandson?

According to this article it looks like CEO mom's son was Onjo and the current king is Geunchogo's father - not sure what his name is but a couple of hundred years later: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onjo_of_Baekjeedited to say after watching Ep. 2, current king is Biryu

I saw the King named as Biryu and as Eoraha or what have you, maybe I didn't see right. I like this so far too though and the banished prince reminds me of an older Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Heath Ledger rolled into one. The Goguryeo King looks familiar, is he the artist fellow that liked the Jolly Widow with the amnesia husband from Jolly Widows?

The drama is three centuries removed from what transpires in the opening segment; which is simply there to show the related origin of the two nations. Jumong is the founder of the kingdom of Koguryeo while his wife and sons (may or may not be biological) are the founders of Baekje. Either they chose to or were forced (evidence is scant ) to leave Koguryeo after Jumong's first wife and son returned to him. Yuri, the son of Jumong from his first wife, became the second King of Koguryeo while On Jo, with the help of his mother Soseno, founded Baekje. Always a small naval kingdom bullied by Koguryeo, their fates will change in this drama under King Geunchogo.

I was going to ask if I need to be high while watching this one, but some of my questions were answered, thanks.

LOL! The banished prince is rather erratic but I loved that he rushed to help his dad even though they're not on good terms and I like the relationship between him and the girl he jumped in the river with. I haven't gotten used to the names as yet because everyone's name starts with 'Yeo' it's sort of confusing.

Notice the armor the Koguryeo soldiers were donning? That's authentic Koguryeo armor based on archaeolohical findings and mural arts. Not the fantasy armors from Gwanggaeto.

The banished dude who jumped in the water with the girl reminds me of an Asian Heath Ledger

Yes the armour is quite different in this one, and the head gear of the Biryu, and some others, was different to see too.

Yes, myoko, the Goguryeo king is the Jolly Widow mechanic lady's boyfriend - for some reason the asianwiki often leaves out some of the dramas the actors have been in and this was one of those cases.....
contraband, so would you say most of the costumes/armor are authentic in this drama? I usually don't pay that much attention but I will do so now....and the headgear seems different also as myoko said....

Thanks contraband for all that info. The armor even on Gwanggaeto is more like a mediaval armor. King Biryu is Han Mujin, I knew when he laughted.....
