I still think this drama has the bad idea of the mental challenge mom and the 24 year son, how did she take care of the son, even if it supposed to be after accident she turn out like that, it is still kind of push the storyline. Last friday that Carl's girl friend had to broke up with him while he ready for propose to her, it just very cruel to do that, but I think I knew it, because they made Saewa saw them came out from the hotel, and the car together, but it seems to be happen too fast. I try to like to show, but so far not get that feeling as same time as HIGH KICK yet.

I didn't see the beating, either! I have been pregnat 3 times and ther is not walking in high heels like that I think I was 3 months pregnat I was wearing maternity clothes hahahaaha. I know the dodgerman was watching this drama, when I see them with the mini skirts reminds me of dodgerman comment about Miran and the mini skirt getting shorter and shorter hahahaha. Linda I'm from Venezuela, Wilmer Valderrama plays too the voice of "Handy Manny" a cartoon character from Disney. I think that Saewa is going to be the bad girl of the drama....

uPP!, Welcome myoko to the board! tsnowice I think that you're right, they might be brother and sister, Anna, & Carl, otherwise for her to get pregnant and be mentally disable it's going to be explained as a "rape", I haven't see that kind of situation on a k-drama...

Welcome aboard, Myoko!
You're right, tsnowice, that Saewa's like day and night in how easy it is for her to break up with Carl and not feel crappy over itl; and Dojo's taking credit for her not getting transferred. All the better though, I hope Carl doesn't have a long hangover on this chick.
Anna and Carl are not brother and sister. She really does look young but when Anna was in the hospital, they said she's in her late 40's. That's old enough to have a 20+ year old child.

It's still awfully "squicky" to think of Anna having sex when she's so childlike and naive, even if she's alegally able to. I wonder if they'll decide to drop her disability, like they dropped the ex-husband's homosexuality on The Road Home, or the missing child subplot on You Are My Destiny. Sometimes on K-dramas, they write themselves in a corner, so they just change it and hope you forget.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Anna getting pregnant really makes one puzzled. The guy that got her pregnant must have known or are they going to change when she became mentally ill at the end?

Boy, is Saewa cold or what - dumping Anna out of the car when she was not far from the hotel.....after all didn't she live with Anna and Carl in the US for several years - how can she be so unfeeling?
And does anyone else think it strange that Carl and everyone else refers to his mother as Anna. I know he never lived in Korea but he was raised by a Korean mother and I certainly never heard a Korean in a drama call his/her mother by their first name and it's not even that common in the US - very peculiar.....
Yes, it will be interesting how they explain the relationship of Anna and Carl's father - I think it has been said that she had a brain injury when she was young that caused her mental problem so how could Carl's father not have known it - interesting if they will just drop this hot potato subject as poodlepal said they have done on other dramas...

Is everyone ok?!?!?!!? I only felt a very slight tremour but it was something kinda exciting!
It really is strange that Carl of all people doesn't call Anna, mom. But, he is disrespectful afterall. I really can't wait to see what they do with the issue of Anna's mental disability.

I missed a few episodes and switch on and off to watch other things at this time period, so I don't see every scene.
What do we know about Carl's and Anna's background? Anna was adopted by (I assume) a white American couple, the Lakers, who lived in Brooklyn. She had Carl by James, who left them at an airport?
Anyway, what happened to the grandparents? Did they die a while ago? Why was Carl so poor in America? The Lakers must have had money if they could adopt an international orphan, and Olympic caliber athletes rarely come from poverty (a lot of coaching time and lessons need to be bought). Let me know if any of this was explained.
So, anyway, at some point Anna became mentally disabled--possibly before her adoption. She had Carl, then years later, took in a boarder for 6 years who couldn't stand her, but waited until they were back in Korea to tell her. Huh? She must have had a nice place to live in Brooklyn for Saewa to put up with her for so long, LOL.

I missed last night episode, but what I know is the Anna's non-biological parents died on a car accident 8 years ago. They had a restaurat where Carl when he was a child star learning how to cook. my explanation why he call her Anna, it's because he kind had to protect her like a father more that be a son we saw on the airplane scene.
