Does Lt. Bak sort of resemble actor Wilmer Valderama to anyone else? Ha ha. And isn't it sad that Carl doesn't know Saewa's address?

I'm starting to miss High Kick. That had a weak overall plot, but because it was a sitcom, individual episodes were funny, even if they didn't move any sort of story along. I can think of many episodes I really thought were funny, like the Christmas episode, the awards episode, the episode where Shinji tried to write a song for the choir, the episode with the antenna chopsticks.
Smile Again seems very serious, although it seems to be having a stronger and more conventional plot (and hopefully, happy ending). There might be a little humor in the beginning, but I have a feeling we're in for another Jolly Widows/Happiness in the Wind tearjerker.

If Anna is mental disable, how could she has kid and the son - Carl, kind of normal? and where is the father, I know the name is James, but I still have a crazy thought, "Carl actually is not Anna's son, may be they both just adopt by that American who died already"

Linda, I'm not familiar with Wilmer Valderama....
poodlepal, I can't say I miss High Kick - true, there were a few memorable episodes, can't say my memory is as good as yours since I don't remember 3 of the 4 you mentioned.....but the overall stupidity of the toilet jokes and constant repition of Gramps hitting people and as dodgerman often said, the Tubbos.....well, not much to miss although over time I did get used to it....
tsnowice - I don't think Anna's condition is hereditary - she was in an accident so no reason for her son to suffer from a mental problem - I think we assume the KJ on the harmonica stands for the initials of the news director, the old Punggu......as some of us remember him from a previous drama.....

Well, interesting episode tonight - this one has a bit of comedy - the two mothers finding out about their kids' relationship and the twins......also we learned a bit about the hotel woman and her husband - evidently he was going to leave her and she took an overdose of pills to keep him - not a good start to a marriage.... Bongi, sure is a good friend to Saewa - pretending to be sick so Carl wouldn't see Saewa with the hotel son..... I don't think the news director is that good looking to have fans stalking him....he was cuter as Punggu.....

Where is Dodgerman, btw?
Mara, there was a sitcom called That 70s show that used to air on Fox I think, Wilmer's the foreign student in it.
I was missing High Kick too, ha ha ha!! I'm watching this with no expectations of being impressed that way, if the ending sucks, I won't be too ticked off.
I don't like Saewa and Carl as a couple, so if/when that relationship dies, that'll be fine by me. Saewa's a user but she's passing it off as being ambitious, pshhh. Carl is filled with pure anger and hatred because of being abandoned by his father so he's taking that out on everyone; but I'd like to see him get punched in the face even once. I think Kim Jun's a total cold-hearted, jerk but from what his wife said tonight, she knew he didn't love her from the start. 30 years of misery, yuck.

Oh, I forgot to mention - I guess you all noticed this starts earlier than High Kick - when I watched the episodes online that I missed they ran at least 30 minutes and the first episode almost 40. I don't know if you all tape/DVR/TIVO or anything like that but in my case I noticed my online guide from Verizon is still listing High Kick and starting at 9:25 so if I wanted to record on my DVD recorder I would have to fool around with the time so I wouldn't miss the first couple of minutes....

What I found online said he was born in Miami but moved to Venezuela when he was 3 and is of Columbian and Venezuelan descent.....so which are you, latina? ;D Yup, it seems he does not love her.....sad.....she certainly is not an obnoxious CEO like the last wife in the drama before High Kick who continually disrespected her husband....

I usually watch the shows as they air. It seems the starting time is going to be all over the place for this one though.
Latina, I'd love to see how Kim Jun and his wife came to be a couple. We know she was the one that actively pursued him but he must have shown some affection at some point. She's even given him a son and we know how they prize male children in the culture. Hmmm, unless, Dojo's not his son.
This drama seems like it's going to be filled with some cruel burns. Bongyi gets dumped hard; Kim Jun/KJ cancels his wife's ticket without telling her then drops the bomb on the day he's leaving; tonight, Haemi's daughter completely humiliates her infront of lowly Soli; then Saewa drops the 'I don't love you.' line on Carl after he 'killed' himself getting the ring and cooking all evening.
Mara, I'd forgotten about the CEO couple in Happiness and the wife with the rigid jawline lol!

I havent gone anywhere. I like this show so far because it is a typical Kdrama with the rich family, poor family, goofy younger sis etc. The only thing it needs is the evil girl like Subin & Miran. Saewa has potential because she is so ambitious. You ladies will know better than me but could a girl who is 5 months pregnant still run around in high heels and tiny skirts She doesnt show at all!!!

lol, dodgerman, I don't know from personal experience, but it does seem unlikely that the pregnant sister could be looking that skinny at five months with twins.....didn't like the beating the father gave the law student either - I thought that went out a few hundred years ago.....with Jang Youngsil.....but then later he says to his wife that they should let them get married.... That Saewa is cold.....just walking out on Carl like that - I even felt a bit bad for him - I guess he'll end up with Saewa's friend - they have cooking in common....

Did I miss the beating? I only saw the father's hand go up and down once then the mother dragged him off of chicken little.
I don't know much about pregnancies either. When one of my cousins was pregnant with her first child she didn't start showing til she was 6 months going on 7. The dressing was the same sl***y way though, but the heels were wedges.

That's interesting, Linda - I watched that episode online as my DVD recorder messed up and there was quite a beating scene - it must have been cut - you couldn't have missed it, I'm sure.....
