latina, I agree, last night was really good - an awful lot went on.....and the fight scenes were well done - I really don't watch any American series at this point except The Amazing Race and sometimes Bones. I do remember Roots - yes, it was really well done - North and South doesn't sound familiar to me. As an aside, not only does the Chicago board have the amazing summaries by ajk but various other info - one of which I found a week or so ago which explains the voice over at the beginning of the drama.... deiner.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=greatkingsejong&action=display&thread=7322And getting back to the recent episode - I was sort of surprised that his wife and baby didn't go into exile with him....I thought I remembered families going into exile together in another historical..

I like this but the actors are way too old. The prince becomes King Sejong when he is 21 in 1418 after his Dad abdicates. The dude playing him looks like he is in his 30's, especially with the beard. I also found in Wikipedia that the young guy who makes the weapons is a real historical person & is credited with many inventions. I was surprised too that his wife and kid didnt accompany him into exile up North.

dodgerman - you are quite correct - I just read a wikipedia article as well - possibly the same one as you did: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sejong_the_GreatHe and his two elder brothers really all look too old.... Wow, he had 10 consorts and 24 children......a busy fellow. ;-)

I didn't know that the young guy was a real history person, this drama is not just aboot how good is done, but how much can e lear about history and how it repeats itself.

mara, North and South was about the American Revolutionary War , I remenber Patrick Swayze was in it. Wow episode #29 was "intense", a lot going on, the end was really unexpected. I think he didn't take his family with him because is cold up there, and maybe wasn't the right time to take a newborn baby to live there

mara, that's right in Iron Empress they left because they wanted to be together and they didn't supposed too, because the IE sister was a consort of the King, they hide in the woods and got pregnant, I can't remenber where she has the baby, because she died during labor..., I think. Linda, Sundays episode was amanzing, thanks for the improvments to the Board

You're welcome, Latina and Mara, I'm grateful for your warmth.
I think she had the baby in that cottage they were hiding out in the woods, and then her 'husband' got arrested. Then during his stay in prison she died. I remember watching their story because I found the actor that played the husband extremely cute.

Talking about cute, did you see how HOT prince Choo... looks now with that facial hair and that rough look?, I'm not sure if even he is the same actor

Last night, you see the half prince K with his Mom, one of the Royal Consorts. I thought it was his wife. He looks way older than her--she is way too young looking to have a kid who looks 35 even though he is supposed to be in his early 20's.
