I must have missed something--Why is Coffee Boy living in the Mean Girl's house??? They didn't go into a big explanation - I think she got him to come from the US to make the coffee and as of yet he had no place to live....

Thank you. I thought that it was her brother.
So let me get this straight. Mean Girl has a crush on two guys and they both like Coffee Girl better? How often have we seen this before? At least Coffee Girl is likable and pretty, not like plain Jane sad sack Eunhui.

I cannot stand even watching the stupid sack sad Father. I hope he jumps off the Han River bridge. He had the shop but never wanted to sell anything. He has been sponging off his daughter all of this time.

lol...I agree, dodgerman - he is pretty useless.
What is confusing me....for a change...is who knows what.....as far as Cake Boy and his mom, rich tea lady, and Mean Girl and her dad, the head of the food corporation. I think MG knows all the relationships but her dad doesn't know CB is the son of his friend, RTL.....and I don't think RTL knows that MG is the daughter of her frequent visitor.....not sure what CB knows at this point...oy....

This show is odd but not unpleasant. I'm curious to see what happens after the "fountain scene" where it turns into the worst show ever (according to some probably teenage fans). There is an excess of characters, restaurants, hot drinks, forgeries and plagiarisms and foul schemes, but there's sort of a nice calm tone to it that was missing from the last few. You get the idea if you just put everyone in the right cafe with the right cakes or drinks there can be peace.

Fountain scene, poodlepal....I'm guessing that is something coming up in the future.....I don't know if there are really that many more characters than in our usual daily. I guess one reason might be for the subplot that they decide to drop at some point later on. ;-)
It doesn't seem that any of the four restaurants we've seen have enough customers to keep them afloat....
I hate the way poor Seunghae is put upon and expected to support all the losers rather than follow her dream....sad....

It seems sort of cheap, this show. If you notice, it just ends without a real cliffhanger. I guess they can't afford extras to walk around.
Can you name one show that didn't have a restaurant in it and a character that worked at a restaurant/owned a restaurant? I cannot. I assume they served food at guitar man's cafe in Love and Secret. My favorite was when the dry cleaners miraculously turned into a chicken restaurant seemingly overnight--maybe they had one discussion about it when I was taking a nap. It's like the writers were "Dang! We forgot a chicken restaurant! Let's hurry up and add one pronto!"

What about Mean Girl getting paralyzed?? I thought I read something about that when I got back and was reading the comments to catch up?

Yes, when testing out the shows I was between this and one that's still going on or was at the time (SAve the Family, I think?) and that was up to 81. So I watched 81 of both shows, and by that time Meanie was in a wheelchair.
My major complaint of all K-dramas: they start out very cute, but sometimes go morbid, very morbid. Has anyone seen "What Happens to My family?" To sum it up: cute theme song, very cute beginning (long lost girlfriend shows up to take up a marriage proposal from a boy who she saved from drowning when he was 12). Cutesy graphics throughout (steam coming out of people's ears, cartoon diagrams to show what they were thinking). One character had a rubbery face, always mugging for the camera with funny facial expressions. A light drama, right!
Wrong. Dad had three months to live and died at the end. I skipped ahead 18 episodes to the end rather than watch his painful demise.
I am not opposed to spoilers for myself--I'd rather know if something is going to turn tragic. I don't know if I would shed a tear for Meanie, though. She's not very sympathetic.

Just when I thought this show would be light and funny up pops Loser dad. Now, the dopey Coffee Girl who will sacrifice her dreams to go back to being a nurse just to get a "workplace loan" to bail the Moron out. How did the last loan work out???

I'm still curious as to why it's more desirable to be a counter service person--even a somewhat specialized one--than a highly-trained professional nurse, but whatever.
I did some research as to what people didn't like about this show--let's say, there's a plot twist we saw before about, oh, six shows ago.
I'm watching a weekend drama called "I'm your teacher." It looks very silly--there's Crouching Tiger type of farfetched stunts in it. It might be worth a look if you're shopping around for a drama.

I am not sure I understood your question about the desirability of a counter service person. While you can get trained formally as a nurse, there are not any schools to become wine tasters, tea tasters, or coffee tasters. These professions while being highly sought after, you can not plan ahead but some how end up in those positions most of the skill set picked up on the job training. I am familiar with the highly prized and rarefied world of tea tasting. It was mentioned that nurse girl helped her aunt and uncle with their respective eateries with some novel ideas for their success. The coffee boy noticed her talent and wants to train her as a coffee barista and grandma wants to teach her tea making skills. The nurse girl has that factor. The doctor baker boy wants to use her skills to read the winds for the success of his business. My 2 cents.!!!

I guess it's one's perception - a nurse does seem more a professional than a barista but we are not talking about someone who just pushes a button on a machine to make a cappuccino, but a skilled person who knows all about the different coffees, etc. Plus she seems to have quite a bit of marketing skill if she has assisted her aunt and uncle with their shops....
So sara79, are you studying tea? Do you do the Japanese tea ceremony? I have had it made for me a few times in Japan - very interesting for sure!
