So Granny wants to throw out her meal ticket - that would be the best thing that could happen to Seungye....
The nephew is really cute and smart...like Hyeokmin from the last one but better looking....

I guess dodger is watching the dodgers and the mets. I can imagine what he's going to say about the intelligence levels of the characters. Rather than predict what will happen, I will rewrite what should have happened on the previous night's shows, had anyone had common sense.
Episode 13 Coffee Boy: I want to hire you as a barista Seungye: Thank you, but I spent years training to be a nurse and I really don't want to be a Starbucks server and make probably one third of my salary. Well, maybe for a while, until I win my lawsuit for wrongful dismissal.
Granny: Oh no, my granddaughter is making coffee! But of course, I won't really go into a diabetic coma from that sort of thing!
Cake Doctor: Let me call an ambulance! It's never a good idea to, you know, carry a diabetic home on your shoulders. I might throw my back out, or she may need an IV or something that you don't have at home.
Meanwhile Mom: You want me to scrub all your pots? Are you crazy? I know you lent me money, but you are seriously one wacked out person. Forget it, here's your cash. We'll go to a loanshark or something.
Meanwhile Dad: I'm not looking all over for this weird picture of a deer. It looks like it was painted by cave people. And what are the odds that I'd be able to find this supposedly famous painting? Oh, and by the way, Seunga, you're not making it in show business because you have no talent, not a scar.

Most of the characters are dopey but at least there is no murder, no one crying every 5 minutes, no sick baby. I saw Swedish laundry during the summer and it also had a girl heroine who was the sole support of her family and they treated her badly as well

When Granny told her to leave if she works at the coffee place, Seunghye ,if she had any backbone, would get up and leave and let the family suffer without her money. How ungrateful--she supported them all.

True, good point dodgerman. Her problems are fairly light at this point, not to belittle the pain of a lost job or a useless family. I almost gave up when they were going to put Tippanee in the orphanage--I'm glad there's no baby or murder as well.
Sorry about the dodgers. My team blew it in the 163rd game, at least you got to the real divisionals.

Sorry about the Yankees, poodlepal.Sorry about the dodgers, dodgerman. Strangely, there will not be any losers in Mets vs Cubs playoffs this year. And I am rooting for both teams to advance knowing fully that only one of them can reach the World Series. Now coming to our drama, I see plethora of eateries but very few customers. I am not fully convinced about the transformation of cake doctor in to a baker. Also the relationship between the cake doctor mom and the rich single dad is not clear. May be we will have to wait a few more episodes where our writers want to take this. Also not clear is the run ins the cake doctor's buddy also a doctor has with the nurse girl's unmarried aunt who is much older to this guy.

Forgot about that subplot, the older writer and younger guy. I watched one random episode when we were deciding what to watch and Tea Lady and Rich Guy were thinking of getting married on that episode. Don't know if they meet at some point or if they are old friends.
LOL--no customers at the eateries! I was describing this to my mother and she said, "This drama is all about what people drink?"
Every show lately has a brother who has no subplot. I think Seungye's bro is the same guy as Tippannee's uncle!

Just saw 19. Granny"finally acknowledge Coffee Girl as her granddaughter"--Another show playing Who's your Mama??? Was she adopted? I liked when Granny said the haretail fish was for "the breadwinner"--meaning her loser sad sack son and not Coffee Girl who supported the whole family.

Have to watch episode 19. I cheated and saw the grand finale! Here's to save you the trouble.
Five years later.
Tea Lady: Imagine, my son has opened a bakery in the hospital cafeteria. He can run upstairs, deliver a baby, then come down and bake a cake. How many years did I obsess over him baking those cakes instead of being a doctor.
Seungye: What should I do now? Should I go intubate someone or make a latte?
Cake Doctor: I don't know, my sweetheart. Maybe you could stir the coffee with one hand and insert an IV with the other. I know that's what I do. And what a good idea we had to put the tea portion of the hospital cafeteria over in the other wing so the coffee smell doesn't interfere.
Seunghye: yes. Imagine, for 20 weeks we tried to decide if we should work in the coffee and cake industry or the healthcare industry. Day after day. Cut the cake or cut the cord? Caffeine or codeine. But here we are at the hospital cafeteria and we can do both. Oh dear, I feel like I'm going to throw up.
Cake Doctor Boy (Dojin?) Oh no, I'll make you a special cake while you can make some decaf.
The end.

They got to investigate the entire team. Mets are on steroids or what !!! If you go further up a couple of more episodes, the nurse girl gets pulled from all the directions with offering of jobs including getting back the nurse position at the hospital, coffee barista assistant, grand ma decides to teach the nurse girl the intricacies of making the tea and the cake doctor wants her badly at his bakery. Looks like our heroine can do it all. This fits well with the poodlepal narrative with cake doctor opening the bakery in the hospital cafeteria. Yeah, we can kill two birds or may be more with one stone, as the saying goes. !!!!
