I read the message boards on the soompi forum. It sounded like they were talking about a different show.
By episode 111, I gather: 1. A new vice president will appear (from the home office someplace? Is it a franchise tofu factory?) 2. He is really Eunhee's brother/half brother. Her mother is not her mother 3. She is in a triangle between the VP and Seongjae, but it looks like Seongjae will win 4. That entire "family" commits various crimes, and Mr. Cha turns bad, as does braid girl 5. Everyone is sick of Eunhee, who is passive and bland.
I'll tell ya, here at episode 26 or so, you see no sign of this coming. I'm wondering if there aren't two separate shows here.

I usually don't read this thread but I guess I am having a slow day - I haven't yet looked at the soompi forum about this one. From your post it sure as heck sounds like a different drama...lol....
I don't think the tofu factory is a franchise - did they have them then in Korea?
At this point the show is seemingly at an end....since Granny will realize Eunhee is the daughter of her son's supposed murderer, what else can happen? ;-)

Since I posted earlier I did read a bit on soompi - evidently in the middle 30's episodes which will be coming up soon, a lot of changes take place......

It seems as though they leave town, work at a hotel (?) and become involved with the Vice President and his mother. His mother is really Eunhee's biological mother and the VP is really her stepson. Her name is Lora. At some point the two casts of characters combine, the hotel (?) and tofu casts, and by the then the tofu people have committed various misdemeanors and felonies, or will in the future and apparently are mean and scheme to cover Mr. Cha's murder and also do some sort of financial shenanigans.
Now, I don't know how I feel about this. It's like the writers were: "OK, this isn't working. We can't keep having the same scene over and over again. And what will happen when granny finds out who Eunhee and her mother are? She'll lose a lousy job she's had for a month?"
"I know. Let's add two new characters. We can make one her biological mother (and that can be a big secret) and she can fall in love with her sort of stepbrother."
"But there has been no indication that her mother isn't her mother and we don't even have a picture of this new love interest/stepbrother in the opening credits, I don't think."
"So? That plot always works. We'll just change it around a bit."
Anyway, I'm a little annoyed that they're throwing in that same plot again, but I guess they were desperate.

WTH??? OMG what a mishmosh of events....what happens to Mr. Sim who she is in love with and STILL calls him Mr. Sim...lol..does he just vanish or does he get crooked also? NOW I really have to look into the future episodes... Was the dead guy having an affair with the woman at the hotel? How the hell did he get the baby from infancy??

We'll find out for sure, but I think they may be related--she may be her aunt or something. Not sure if "murderer" is really her bio dad. Mr. Im is still in love with her and is who she apparently winds up with, since she can't marry the stepbrother/cousin/whatever.

Speaking of the writers of this drama - I checked the d-addicts dramawiki page and the two writers have no pages of their own - assuming that means they don't have much prior experience.....

OK, I watched the final episode. Words escape me. It was bizarre.
The main theme of this was that Mr. Cha descended into Alzheimer's disease. He went to Hyongmon's grave and ate an apple that was just sitting on the ground. Then he thought he was a ginseng digger. Finally, he was carted off to the psych ward, where he deteriorated even more, which is why I think Alzheimer's, not just guilt. He stared at his hand and wiggled his fingers. It was just strange. Lora--now known as Hyongsik or something like that--was recovering from some disease. Had there been a transplant? I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me.
A year later, everyone came to visit. Stupid Nephew had a Korean Drama Redemption, and was running the factory with Sundeok's husband and Seongjae. Sundeok and the Niece-in-law had single births. Jeongtae and Madame Jeong were nowhere to be seen.
Jeongok bought the soup shop. Yeongju had to leave the symphony because she was a murderer's daughter, but was working as a music teacher.
So now we're back at the nursing home, and Eunhui and the VP were supposed to visit, but they came separately. Eunhui had to do something first. While everyone was waiting for her, Mr. Cha got up out of his wheelchair and did a dance in the snow or maybe some sort of dandelion fluff. For several minutes.
So, now we catch up with Eunhui, who has her hair in a bun. What was she doing that was so important, rather than meet a man who framed her father/uncle and mistreated her while he sat in the rest home? She was staring at the sea. Seongjae came and asked her how everything was in the States, and it was good.
What was she doing in the states? They didn't say. Was she a couple with the VP? Didn't say. Was she getting back with Seongjae? Didn't say
But we do know that Mr. Cha is a great dancer!

You said you knew who she ended up with I guess it was the VP and she was in the states with him? I know Jeongtae dies when Eunhui gets kidnapped so its not him. That made me sad. I liked him the best. Seongjae seemed like he was with Yeongju until he met Eunhui at the sea and said lets go see Cha everyone's waiting...what the hell did that mean? Cha's mental illness was more then Alzheimers I think he went bazerk because of all his wrong doing. I was also dissapointed that Jeongok didn't marry soup shop owner I liked him alot.

Jeongtae is dead? I didn't know that! That's awful.
No, I was never 100% sure who she wound up with. From reading another message board, it sounded like it was Seongjae, but the ending was unclear and ambiguous.
If Cha killed Jeongtae but people were visiting him in the psych ward, they are idiots. I understand anger kills, but the forgiveness people get on these K-dramas is out of hand.

Yes, for what I gathered Eunhui gets kidnapped and J and VP go in to save her and J get killed. So I know its not him for sure. I agree about the ending but then again I fast forward through most of it to get the gist of what was going on. Saw E come back from the US which makes me think maybe she is with the VP now or just taking care of Mom's hotel business.
