OOPs...sorry Mara, its not First Love I have downloaded, its Eunhui. First Love is too old of a Drama for anyone to have and if they did on there there would be no seeders anyway. lol...grace - I meant Eunhui as well....First Love is on youtube anyway...so my original question deals with Eunhee....

Nobody has anything to say about this lumbering drama, huh?
Anyway, here is my recap. I missed the first half hour because I forgot it existed.
The main family has moved to a junkyard. Someone is looking for Chan-hyuk, but Sis lost his business card or address or whatever.
The girl with the 80s hair/blouse ran away but was found.
The mafia guy gambled away the theater and the owner threw the wife out of the house.
The rich girl ran into Chan-woo someplace.
That's it.

lol...poodlepal - I actually like this one - not sure why it's the highest rated drama - I tried to research it a bit on wiki d'addicts as they have a lot of historical info on kdrama. In 1996 they list 19 dramas and last year almost 100 so I guess that makes it easier...lol...and anyways it appears only one episode - don't know which was the highest rated.
I don't think the main family lives in a junkyard - it is just one of those very poor Seoul houses - it's a lot nicer than where Samsaeng's family lived which seemed more like a hovel. And it looked like the sister has fallen in love with the guitar player - it seemed that scene might have been cut - she obviously has some emotional problems but she can write and she is running a business - tent restaurant - with her father.

I cannot believe that the theater daughter(Lee Seung Yun) is the same one that played the heroin in the Great Seer! What a difference. And the guitar guy has been in everything recently. I saw Empire of Gold he was in that and Tazza and Pharmacy House.
I think this drama is about people getting lost and then others finding them...lol...so far thats the crux of the plot. Of course we HAVE to have the idiot bro in law that loses in gambling all the time. How can he bet the theater was it his on paper? The theater Dad is HUGE...all he would have to do is push him with his finger and teach him a lesson. They are rich I guess Mom doesn't have access to $$ so she has to ask bitchy rich lady for a handout, how was she going to pay her back in the first place?
I think they "act" too much in this drama, everything is over the top...I can't explain it but the overplay...dropping books, again and again. Losing papers and looking with their hand on their forehead like a sailor...those things make me laugh. Its like they are in a highschool play.
Because this is only on the weekend I can tolerate it two a week is more then enough to deal with this nonsense. In my head I am always mixing this up with Eunhue...I have to really think what character is where.

I keep mixing it up with Eunhui as well. It really is lumbering--that is a good term to describe it.

As I said before I am getting to like this one - but the main issues for me are the poor visibility of the night/dark scenes which seem very numerous - they obviously haven't remastered this since 1996....and I think the esubs leave a lot to be desired - sometimes they talk and talk with little or no esubs. Maybe back then there was less need for esubs as kdrama was not that popular.....

My problem with this one is that with the longing gazes, lumbering plot & suicidal background music, I cant keep my eyes open through it. At least I got straight who all the characters are

You're ahead of me, dodger! I can't keep many of them straight and didn't recognize Chanhyuk yesterday.
Let me see if I have this straight (and if not, you have a week to help me, LOL!) Family #1 Chan Hyuk--Factory worker with art talent, on the run for wrecking theater. Chan Woo-law student Sis--Sis. She has a tent restaurant? Didn't see that scene, must have forgotten to watch.
Rich lady widow--Rich lady widow, obviously. Her son--friend of Theater Girl 80's Girl--Is that her daughter? She ran away with her 80's bow tie on?
Theater Owner His wife or ex-wife, since he threw her out Theater girl-daughter. Good for nothing brother-in-law
I like that this explores subtle class-differences, which is something I'm interested in. Is it OK for Chan-hyuk to be just a factory worker when he has so much talent? Or is it a waste?
I believe this is not a cheerful, happy show. Won't give away any spoilers, but I think it turns very dramatic, which could be why it was so popular.

pOODLEPAL, You got everyone except for the lady who lived near the poor family, She ran the concession stand at the theater and married a rich guy and has the daughter who was Chan-ock's friend and has the hots for Chan Hyuk artist boy.

I'm beginning to follow it a little better and am actually looking forward to seeing why she smacked him. Confused over the three short-haired girls (or is it two? or only one?) Is the girl who ran away the same one who was the announcer? They have the same 'do, but it makes no sense. I think not.

I think there are 2 short hair girls. One is the theater concession lady's daughter . She ran away because she got remarried. Which doesn't make sense because the husband is rich and really is kind toward her so now she is the hostess girl but she quit last night.
The other is photo guy's sister who is the announcer in school.

yes, grace, there are those two....
What I don't understand is the whole idea of Chan-Hyuk's current status regarding the attack he made on the movie theatre projectionist back in the small town. Isn't that why he left home to begin with? So that was never resolved....he damaged the theatre equipment and I would guess uncle is still pretty angry as well as Hyo-kyung's dad. Does she know the back story?
