Congratulations to Kim Yuna on winning the Silver Medal. I thought she skated superbly. And congrats to Ms. Kostner on winning Italy's first medal in figure skating. And that kid from Russia did a nice job.

I have read two novels by the author Martin Limon. The protagonists are 2 US Army sergeants in Korea in the 1970's. They are members of the Criminal Investigations Dept and basically are detectives solving crimes. What is interesting is they eat at the outdoor food stands with the cold weather flaps, have rice cakes and soju, use words we know like yabo, ahjumma & ahjussi. The writer also brings in how important family harmony is and how the whole family is involved with decisions and crowd into hospital rooms!!! He also mention the family registers. I have read the latest one and went back to my library and got an earlier one and will get another one next time.

Thanks for the recommendation, dodgerman....I hate to say how infrequently I read a book....sort of embarrassing. Anyway looks like he has written quite a number - any particular one to recommend.... sohopress.com/authors/martin-limon/

I liked the recent one THe Iron Sickle better than the earlier one The Door to Bitterness. Those are the only 2 that I read.
