Mara, maybe this is the thread for my question. I don't want to waste people's time on the Eunhui thread. I didn't get the User's Guide when I stumbled on to this site. I was watching Samsaeg on WMBC. I first came across it last July and began watching about episode 40. The characters were all grown up and seemed like a bunch of Korean yuppies. Then I realized some of them were well to do and some of them not. I went online to see if I could find out what I missed. And I came across episodes from the beginning. So little by little I downloaded the 40 or so episodes I had missed. Then I began watching the early episodes while I was watching the currant episodes. Gradually I pieced the story together. But while looking around the Internet I found not only pictures from the show but even discussion groups like this one so I joined up in October of last year.
But what is the deal with this board? Is it recreation or is it work? For example are you doing this as a hobby or are you employed by the board? I ask because some of the folks seem to watch one TV novel after another whether this like them or not. I don't understand that. If I don't enjoy a novel I will skip it and do something else. Maybe I would drop in on another thread and chat but I wouldn't watch 100 episodes of something that didn't interest me.
So what's the deal here?

Sorry, Tom, I just noticed your post now three days later....lol....I usually don't look too far down the home page.
What's the deal with this board? Well, it started a few years back by a guy who lived in Brooklyn - hence, its name. As time went on, he disappeared and I took the initiative and started new posts but couldn't do too many functions as a regular member. Then after some time, his cousin, I believe, took over the board from him and asked me to be a moderator - because I still couldn't do certain functions, she made me an administrator. This was a couple of years back by now. She, Linda, has also seemed to disappear so I am keeping the board going as best I can....lol....
Employed, maybe I'll take up a collection from you all....kidding....I am retired, not I'm probably more busy now than when I worked, but I have enough time to read the board and make up new topics when it is time for a new drama.
As far as why we all hang in - there's no other choice on tv in the NY/NJ area unless you have some premium cable Korean channels which I do not. So we just pretty much stay with the dramas even when we don't love them....we are a little family here....
Quite a few people from the beginning are long gone so I am happy with whoever stays....
