i like this show very much.
still a bit confused about some things but i am sure everything will become clearer as time goes by.
in last night's episode, not sure which number (Sat Oct 30), the crown prince showed his desire to be different than his father, but his open opposition is not smart. he also became aware of the abilities of his brother....will he see him as a threat, or as an advisor?
so many familiar faces in this one. glad to see them.

........i only watch the historical dramas....they are superior to me. my first one was Age of Warriors and i have seen them all except Emperor Wang Guhn. laf - hope that abbreviation is okay.....are you familiar with the site dramafever.com - they have quite a few historical dramas there - I am a premium member but one doesn't have to be to watch most everything there - I think a premium member gets new episodes sooner, that's all. I am watching from time to time Kim Soo Ro with Ji Sung with whom I fell in love after watching Swallow the Sun..... Getting back to Great King Sejong - I find reading ajk's episode summaries on the Chicago Board extremely helpful - although now I am getting better as to who is who.....

I think I got some of it figured out. There is a faction backing the Japanese. a faction looking to Ming China, a group that wants to reutrn to the past glory of Goryeo, the Queen and consorts who each want their son to follow the present King. The Crown Prince who is 20 and looks 40(even the wacky IE son looked older than 20 and he was supposed to be like 15). The second son who must be about 18 and is into the flowers not politics and the third son who becomes Sejong when he's 21 even though he now looks 30 and is supposed to be around 17.

This group are the ones who wants prince Choon...later Sejong to be the King? . Is the Crown Prince's wife a princess from Ming China??, because the Crown Prince supposed in the beggining to be married to one, at leat the Emperador be his father in law

This drama is so good, I'm still trying to figure out some of the latest things that happens. king Taejong performace so far is so good, one of my favorites actors. Last night in the drawings I couldn't make out who supposed to be the person that was watching the CP and the concubine, I guess that he was the abdicate King, but i looked like Baron OK...

Well, I finally recognize most of the characters but I'm still confused as to who is on whose side, but then again I think there might be a lot of changing alliances as well....

Last night was Episode 27 I believe. I finally am getting into this after all these weeks. I pretty much know who everyone is and sort of which side they are on. Prince Choongnyeong continues to be so naive in trying to get things done. To go to the rebel HQ by himself - what did he think would happen....and the ending.....can't wait til next week.....

I can't stand the older brother! lol
For the most part, I rarely get to watch this so I've missed many crucial parts. I try to get into it but I seem to be too impatient and my attention trails.

Linda, yes, it is very hard to get into historicals imo if, like me, you don't know too much about Korean history.....but once you get into it, they become enjoyable. You can get a summary of each episode on the Chicago board deiner.proboards.com/index.cgi? They're on the Off the Air board - I could never have gone through this without the help of the summary. When we were watching Iron Empress almost one quarter of each episode was cut so I really needed the summaries of those....

Last night was a great episode, the effects were fantastic, the scenes well done, I would like to know how much it costs to make this drama, there is a lot of extras, and exteriors scenes, a miss having a production like that in american tv, it reminds me of the series Roots, and North and Souht, maybe you are too young to remenber those mini-series in the '80s, but there were very good, much better that any soap opera or reality tv these days
