According to Wikipedia, King Sejong was born in 1397 & becomes King at 21 in 1418. I dont know how far forward we have come since he was 13 but the actor playing him and the other 3 princes all look too old even for it to have been 8 years.

You are right dodgerman, when the 4 princes started in front of the addicated king to received their bows the youngest prince son of Hubani, king consor, when Sejong was 13 years old, this kid was maybe 2 years old or 3, not more, However, looks more that an 11 years old boy. The actor that plays Sejong, I don't like it for that, he looks older that his middler brother. But last night episode was so cool! I feel like watching a movie, the scene ofthe attack to the village and the ship, were well done, the efects of the people getting kill by the fire arrows were good. i really like this drama

I like it too. I like the history, the art of the palaces and of course the battles. Now if it had a hot girl like Saila from Iron Empress it would rock!!

lol, dodgerman.....well Miran had a very short dress on tonight.... I got a little panicky both Saturday and Sunday as the drama started a bit late - 5 or 6 minutes after the hour - I wonder what's up with that. I still am having trouble figuring out who's who but I read the summaries on the Chicago board so that helps. I really don't understand the young girl and servant who went to get medicine for the mom that passed away - what do they have to do with anyone else?

Mara, I was asking the same question, but the guy talked about the composition for the fireworks, I think it has to do with gunpowder and the cannos that Crown Prince wants to build, I don't know, some how he is going to be link to the palace through this. What I don't undestand is the consort Hubari's son. At the beggining of the drama I thought that the son was the toddler, now it seems that he was a youg boy as Sejong back then, I'm missing something but, I never saw him at the begging, I'm confused please some help!

So wait...the consort's son, the little boy in the beginning whose older bro refused to kill him, he's the one who becomes Sejong? And who's the crown prince now, the heir to the throne, or maybe the king already? I don't recognize him. I thought he was the aforementioned actor who refused to kill little Sejong.
I'm confused too, Latina. i GUESS I'll read the Chi Board summaries like Mara suggests.
And yes, Dodge, no Sailla babes yet. You old horndog!

Puppy, the one who becomes Sejong is the third son--the one who rings the gong and the Crown Prince( Iron Empresses's wacky son) does not behead. The consort's kid is the fourth son who was the toddler at the abdicated King's ceremony. The problem is that when they fast forwarded, the actors are way too old for their ages. According to history, Sejong become King at 21 which would make the Prince now younger than that but he looks 30. The Consort's kid would be around 11 and he looks 20.

OK, got it (I think) Dodge. Thanks!
I still don't know what happened to IE's wacky son. I didn't find him in the last 2 epis. Did they "age" him too and now he's another actor? And didn't the king abdicate in his favor. Shouldn't he be king now? Or maybe he is and I'm not picking up on it.
Sorry for all these querstions. I did read the Philly board summaries but altho they are excellent, they didn't help much in this area.

Puppy, her iswhat i got so far. The IE wacky son was the Crown Prince(the King's eldest son by the Queen) and when they fast forwarded, he is now played by another dude. The abdication ceremony wasnt for the present King but for the one before him , I think his brother who abdicated to unite the country behind the guy who is now King and has the 5 sons--one older guy with a consort--he 's the one you see getting the bow from the King. The Crwon Prince, the middle son and the future Sejong and then the little boy with the other consort. I hope that straightens it out

I just love some of the subtitles - last night the gunpowder maker, Choi HaeSun (recently seen in the Road Home), says to one of his men at the beginning of the episode - "The Crown Prince doesn't know jack...." Gee, were they using that slang in the 1200's?... ;-)

Last night, the Crown Prince's wife tells the King that he should teach the CP to drinkl because he is now 20 years old. The actor playing the CP looks way older than that. Also, I look when do the fast forward that none of the ministers, eunuchs or general look a day older. Thye did the same thing in IE.
