Any of you ever put in a marathon session? I
had to DVR the two dramas for a while and the other nite I sat down with pop corn and watched everything I'd missed for about three, four hours. It was the oddest thing but, when it was all over, I had kind of reached critical mass. Never thought I'd OD on K-drama, being a stone addict and all, but let me tell you, it can and does happen.
I had to FORCE myself to watch yesterday's epi of Jolly Widows. These shows are definitely not meant for extended viewing. Even when I play one of my DVD's, or go on the websites, the most I ever watch at one time are two episodes.

I don't have a DVR but a couple of years ago I used my old VHS recorder to do eight hours of dramas I would be missing during a trip.....can't remember which ones they were. When I got home, I watched quite a few at once.
Now, I have a DVD recorder which only does six hours I think so I have to be more choosy - I watch the British soap Eastenders so that has priority since it isn't online - usually I can find the kdramas online.....
Actually when I was in Spain last February I was watching the then current kdrama, The Road Home?, online as I was traveling with my laptop - all the hotels had free wi-fi....

OMG, Eastenders! I can still hum the theme song. Don't tell me it's still on.

It's on Friday night at midnight (except when they are doing special pledge week shows which they have for the past two weeks) on Channel 21 WLIW...... I also attend brunches every couple of months in Manhattan where the woman who organizes them gets DVDs from shows shown in the UK which will never be seen here.

We moved from City Island in the Bronx in 1996. I used to get WLIW and Eastenders was on once a week at 10 PM. I have Cablevision in the Hudson Valley where I live now, and something called Blue Ridge in Pike Cty, PA.
I get Britcoms (some VERY old) but catching new shows or repeats?

.....I have Cablevision in the Hudson Valley where I live now, and something called Blue Ridge in Pike Cty, PA...... Well, you might just be in luck - when I did a search for Blue Ridge I came up with their channel guide - it seems like Channel 12 is WLVT - I believe Eastenders is shown on that station - it's a PA PBS station..... I have no idea where they are up to compared to Eastenders in the UK - here on WLIW (yes, it used to be on at 10pm) we are about six years behind... Just checked the schedule of WLVT - Eastenders is on tonite at 11 pm..... ;D

We in the US are eons behind on East Enders episodes. I have family in the UK who watch it now and then. A friend visiting last summer gave me an update on my favourite characters but I cannot stay awake long enough to watch it anymore.

Yes, we are seven years behind, I believe.......can't you tape it or DVR it depending on your technology.....I guess I'm really addicted - I've been watching since the beginning here in NYC - close to 20 years as EE had a 25th Anniversary recently.....

Mara, yes it has been (dare I say) a quarter of a century for EE. I began watching it on a visit to my mother; it had been running for about a year at that time! I was thrilled when it came over here, but the story line has changed a lot and there were times when it was just too depressing to watch. At least with Kdrama's there is an ending and we can go onto the next one.
