I just watched the last episode (ep 13) before the switch - yes, that was a quick scene where a evidently young VP and his father and a woman came into the room with a baby and said from now on he will be your brother.....
So I thought the VP resigned - but everyone is saying he was fired because of his son getting JG preggers....I guess that makes sense.
In the airplane/airport scene which we also saw in the first episode we now see two other people who of course we now recognize as Dae Hae's dad who ran off to Vietnam and the con man who ran off with JG's mom's money....should be interesting....
I see that DF is only up to Ep 18 and there are 50 episodes....so I guess I should slow down a bit....

I am in the middle of 9, jang Gook is very tired but hasn't thrown up yet and it looks like her Mon will be scammed.

Saw first episode after the switch, but missed some due to extreme sleepiness. Still somewhat heavy. Dal Rae (is that their idea of an American name? The writers of Emergency Couple did better on that front, LOL, as did Carl, Anna and James's writers) spent much of the episode visiting her father's grave.
OK, I get it. The father is dead. Unless he comes back from the dead, does this have any bearing on the plot? Move it along, Wild Chives!

That's ep 14, right, poodlepal? I slowed up on this as DF is only up to ep 19....maybe will watch it tonight....since I just saw the new actor briefly I must say I thought she was very pretty as a teen and not so much now....

Finished ep 14....poodlepal, you must have taken quite a long nap - the part with Dal Rae and her aunt visiting the father was pretty short I thought.....;-)
I felt it was a good episode to bridge the 12 years - we basically saw what happened to all the important people from before. It seemed there was quite a change of fortunes - Jung Gook/Dal Rae's mom and granny now have a huge dumpling restaurant - we didn't find out where they got the money for it except a quick thanks to the aunt for her help - maybe she lent them money....and the other high school girl is now a doctor helping Joon Soo's younger brother who appears to be an intern. And her mom, the one whose husband left, seems to be a successful businesswoman. Joon Soo's parents seem to be down on their luck - running a real estate business? One would think the father could have got another teaching job after he left the Vice Principal position.....and the con man is back working for the same company or some supplier as Joon Soo and his school buddy Mon Chul works there as well...small world. ;-)

I read on Soompi that they cut the episodes from 50 to 26 because of low ratings. I'm still watching but I have to say I'm not enjoying it as much as I did in the beginning. I'm quite disappointed in the adult portion of this drama. But I will watch until the end it may get better yet.

I think I'm in the second episode of the adult part - it's okay - nothing great.....

Just finished episode 14 and made the jump. The new Jang Gook is about a head taller than the younger one. No way would an 18 year old girl, past puberty, grow that much.

I got back to it yesterday and am up to Ep 17...I am more interested in the parents' generation - how they all got to what they are doing now. Last ep it looked like the father who deserted (who is also in New Leaf and was in Spring Waltz which I just finished the other night) was about to walk into the real estate agency of the other couple. Why did the former VP end up in real estate - couldn't he get another educator job somewhere? And how did the dumpling mom get so rich? Of course, what will happen with the con man? lol....the young adults don't seem that interesting....

I cant figure out how HamCho-the little girl the VP's "brother" met with the drunkard father came to live in the dumpling house. I am on ep 20 & it never explains how the duympling people got rich, how Dae Hae's Mom ends up in business or anything else during the 12 years. Something else that must be cultural is why these young adult children continue to live at home and then complain when their parents are up their butt all the time. I started working at 23 and moved out in 2 months.

I'm on ep 21 now. Got side tracked with Golden Cross (awesome) and Big Man ( also awesome). I'm happy they cut it to 26 episodes, I see that they also changed it on DF so it must be true. I got bored after the jump. The lives of both families are reversed now and that scum of a con man is back which really bothered me, and I'm not really liking the adult kids together. They really screwed up on the writing, like they got lost and didn't know where to go with the story.

I watched up to 22? - the last available now on DF. I am starting to like it now...lol....interesting to find out what happens to everyone - the separated people are all coming closer and closer.....
I wonder at what point they decided to cut it almost in half - interesting concept....
They have mentioned that the son brought Ham Cho after he met her in her island home - something about an accident with her drunk father - didn't quite get that. And quite a coincidence that she ended up at the dumpling house, the sworn enemy of her other friend, the uncle from Jun Soo's family...lol....
As far as the rest of them no info yet.
dodgerman, lol....I know what you mean about moving out - I left when I was still in college...of course, not to give away my age but that was still the time of rent-controlled apts. in NYC. ;-) Nowadays I guess it is hard to do that almost anywhere....

I am waiting for the last 4 episodes as well. My apartment wasn't rent controlled but it was run by Trump Management

I just finished this - I can't really imagine how it would have been twice as long - even though towards the end they seemed to lose any real resolution to the subplots I can't see it dragging out more than two or three more episodes at most. It was okay, not thrilling....lol.....as usual I liked the parents' generation more as they are actors with whom I am familiar....
