Sorry for the lateness, everyone, the heatwave is mostly to blame.
So far, I like the action though I can't say I like seeing Jo Malseng's mug so soon again lol.

No problem, Linda - thanks for making the new thread!
I must say I didn't have the foggiest idea what was going on - it went by too fast - when they had the long explanatory subtitles I couldn't read them and the dialog - too bad I didn't record it....I did see many familiar faces though - the older generation of actors - the younger ones didn't seem familiar.
Before GKS I was more used to Jo Malseng as a nice guy in one or two of the family dramas so he seems more like that now.....he did mellow at the end of GKS.
I believe they were in Shanghai so I didn't get why everyone was speaking Korean and not Chinese.....

Shanghai? Oh my word, I thought they were somewhere in Japan LOL! Indeed, the e-subs went by too fast for some of the scenes. I wonder why we didn't get the first 2 parts of this show before this last installment? I hope it doesn't matter and we won't be left clueless like with the mini show 'My Daddy Loves Trouble'.

Shanghai? Oh my word, I thought they were somewhere in Japan LOL! ...... Okay, I found the drama online and re-watched the beginning - they are in Tianjin, a northern Chinese city which was occupied by foreign governments including the Japanese - I'm not sure what year it is so can't get more specific but here is a lot of info about the city's history: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TianjinAnd then a few days later they're in Shanghai....

There is in the year 1931, the bombs were in the Japanese Embassy in Tianjin, they go to Shanghai because there is the place were the Black Anarchistics(sip) supposed to be located and were Lee Hoe Young is in exile. I guess they spoke Korean given the fact some are japanese, some chinese and some korean characters... void the 3 languages trasleccion

I liked tonite's episode - it gave more of the background of the family and the period in history - it's interesting to see a more or less modern historical drama. I really like 'Jo Malseng' in this!

Doesn't hurt that Junpei's a cutie too . This is a really interesting show, it's not that Hoe Young wanted to be violent but sometimes you have to go that route to get what you really want.

I think the other two young guys who work with Lee Hoe Young are pretty cute as well. I don't know any of them from other dramas.... Latina, I'm sure you can watch Seoul 1945 online - it's 70 episodes though.....

The fiery one with the bulbous eyes played the ghost in High Kick.

I thought the young guy, Kyuong(sp), was Hoe Young's nephew and not his son. I enjoyed the show though, very entertaining and also sad.

Well, I caught up and finished this short historical drama. I liked it a lot except for the last episode when Lee Hoe Young was tortured - they were using the same methods as in the old historicals of a thousand years ago - the hot iron thingie - geez, what's up with that? I loved when the young woman took on all the soldiers singlehandedly - she was one tough cookie - I wonder if she really existed......it was interesting to learn about this more modern history which I knew nothing about or possibly missed that day in school, as I like to say. I might try to find the earlier two series of this online one of these days.
