Saw episode 1 & 2. here is what I got so far. Everything from the time the Grand Prince comes back to the palace and hugs his girl is a flashback. The King has 3 sons and dies. His oldest sickly son , the CP, becomes King. The middle son is nasty and under the thumb of the dead King's brother. The middle son is the one who killed the little maid. The younger son-the one who returns in the beginning--is the hero of the drama.

I re-watched parts of the first and second episodes and now understand better...I think....they do a lot of flashbacks so that was what confused me to begin with....
The cast has a bunch of familiar faces - the nasty son, Joo SangWook, of course has been in many and JaHyun's mom, Kim MiKyung, is one of my faves. I think I liked her the best in Healer when she sat behind computer screens with her kinky hairdo...lol...

Just finished the third episode. So the baby just born turns out to be the young child who is holding the hand of the dying chonah dad in the first episode when the younger Grand Prince gets back from being dead or wherever he was....

Pretty good so far. This is not about actual rulers of Joseon. Usually, they give the name of the King and when he reigned but this one has not. They did mention that Kim Yu Shin helped unite the 3 Kingdoms--he was in The King's Dream and Queen Seondeok.

Right, it is not a true historical...I remember Kim Yu Shin....he was from the 7th century. It is hard to tell what century this one is supposed to be. I read the wiki en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Prince_(TV_series) which says it is loosely based on Grand Prince Anpyeong and King Sejo...they are from the 15th century. I like it as well.

Episode 11---everything that happens to Hwi is his own fault for telling his brother that he had the incriminating documents. WE have seen that so many times before. The writers really have to come up with new plot devices

Hwi is a bit naive not thinking to what end his brother would go in order to get the throne....maybe he really has the letter somewhere.
Did you happen to see I posted some new drama possibilities in the Future drama thread?

Well, I guess the dead person wasn't really Hwi or possibly he wasn't dead....not sure why they didn't show his face - was it supposed to be eaten by fish....so how many episodes until he shows up again.....;-)

Obviously he isn't dead. He probably had a bullet proof vest under his shirt since he was shot with the arrow right under the heart and should be dead. Like Arnold, HE WILL BE BACK!!!!

I looked up the cast to see who plays Roo Si Gae and the listing said nam Ji Hyun. When I looked her up, it listed her as the lead in both Suspicious Partners & Shopping King Louie as well as the teen age Queen Seondoek. The thumbnails of her in those shows looks nothing like her and I cant see her taking a supporting role after being the lead in SP & SKL. Maybe there are 2 actresses wit the same name or they listed it wrong

I finished this. The whole first part of the episode dealt with the death of Roo Si Gae and the Evil King & Evil Queen. I think the Good Grand Prince cried in almost every episode. It is a good thing he never became King because he was way too weak. I like the historicals when they are about the actual historical people and events.
