asianwiki.com/You_Are_The_Best!_Lee_Soon-Shin (this link doesn't work properly so you can just type it in or copy it.....) So we are now moving into uncharted territory....lol...since this board started back about six years ago, we have been watching a KBS daily drama - usually over a hundred episodes and about 30 minutes long - first on the local channel WMBC and then online since 6/2014 when WMBC stopped airing kdrama. We have become increasingly unhappy with the past few both online and when they were still on WMBC, so for our next daily we will try something different. Our next drama is an hour long and only....lol....50 episodes. You Are the Best stars IU, a fave of dodgerman and Cho JungSeok, one of my faves. I see a few familiar faces in the cast - Kim YongRim, Granny in the one we just watched, Ko JooWon from the Bizarre Bunch.....wow, a real oldie....and Jeong DongHwan, who is in at least half of the dramas I have watched..... We will start five days a week on Monday 2/8...... Enjoy!

I hope IU sings at some time during this show. As my Grandpa would say--she's got some set of pipes!!

I've never seen IU in anything.
I wonder if we have higher standards for watching something online. If you have to make an effort to see it, you expect more from it. Love on a Rooftop I didn't like, but I don't know if it was worse than some or all of the broadcast shows. I'll do my rundown, like I do after every show ends.
I would put this show between Hanbok Girl and below Melody of Love, making it a good bad show or a low average show. Angel's Revenge remains the best of the computer shows, which I would say would be high average (would have been good except for that weird nanny falling off the boat subplot).

Interesting discussion....
For me, watching online isn't more of an effort, if anything it is less of an effort as it is always available as against having to watch or record at a certain time. Now when I travel I don't have to worry about missing episodes, can download or watch some online....
I started watching kdrama around 2005 with Bizarre Bunch - I think poodlepal saw that as well - and Pure in Heart, dodgerman's first, followed that one so we all have more or less the same history.
I honestly can't pick a favorite - I have seen so many online - not as many as dodgerman or madman999 but still a lot...or really even rank them - I know which ones I saw on WMBC but didn't keep a list after that and DF doesn't seem to keep the viewing history back all the way since I joined....
I think I enjoyed the DF dramas and romantic comedies more than the 'daily' dramas either on WMBC or the ones we have seen together online.....
I also really liked several of the historicals - Dae Jo Young being my first....
One of the things I really like is seeing the same actors in many dramas and how good they are portraying such different people from one to the next.......

First episode seen, so far so good.....
Lee EungKyun also in the cast - Dojin's mom....so this is a mini reunion from Rooftop....lol...
And the CEO's dad is Kim KapSoo who I've seen in a number of historicals - almost didn't recognize him....he looks very young which he isn't....

A lot of familiar faces--Granny, Jo Mal from the historicals, the other Dad who was in the historicals etc. I tried to watch on Youtube but the picture was only in the lower left of the screen with a wheat field in the background. I could not figure out how to make the show the full screen so i watched it on DF. I think we saw the Famous General with the statue in one of the historicals.

Forgot to say above, the famous general is Yi SunSin - I visited that area when I was in Seoul, in the background was the statue of King Sejong - and that is a version of IU's name - that's why everyone laughed at her when she said her name..... I watched it on KBS Youtube online, the same site where I have been watching the past dailies since we started doing that.....what youtube were you watching, dodgerman?

The restaurant owner is Lee JiHoon - the asianwiki bio is for another actor with the same name - this one was in You Are My Destiny....
Lee MiSook who plays Miryeong, the older actress, was in Miss Korea and Love Rain.
The other dad from the historicals playing a doc who does face lifts looks like he had one himself...lol....
Liking this so far....

Wow, that is some comprehensive list--and I agree more or less. You forgot You are my destiny, the one where she was being sent to Russia. Or does it just go without saying how much you like it?
My list: The Good Early Shows: Best: Pure In Heart Runner Up: Likable HOnorable Mention: Bizarre bunch (only saw ep.89 on, but started a K-drama fire in my soul, LOL) PIH is looking better and better. It avoided a lot of cliches and never lost its humorous touch. Everyone knew who their parent was, for heaven's sake!
Later "regular" shows Best: Smile Donghae Runner Up: Jolly Widows Who can forget James-uh!
Low-Brow comedies: High Kick, ran unopposed
Novels: Best: Samsaengi Runner Up: Dear My Sister Quite a distance between these two, but parts of DMS rose above the somberness, and I liked how she remained single and proud. Samsaengi is arguably my favorite, and the only one to be truly suspenseful.
Computer: 1. Angel's Revenge. Could have been good if it didn't get stupid with grandma the criminal nanny Runner Up: Love and Secret. Never terrible, never great, but a solid drama with a really cute baby
Weekend Tie: Infamous Chill Sisters and Two Brothers. Two of the best, hard to choose between them
The Worst Early Series: 1. You Are My Destiny. Subplot about Russia notwithstanding, this suffered from too many dropped subplots, and I like a rude mother-in-law, but really? You can't wear a coat? And she gave her marrow to her?
2. The Road Home. Just sort of blah. Also, High as the Sky was about equal. Not bad, not great
Later Series: 1. Happiness in the Wind. Actually, this wasn't bad, but I felt sorry for Miran. She was a victim as much as anyone else, also the father beat the kid to a pulp with a ruler.
Weekend: 1. First Love. Well, damn it, who did he pick? 2. Mom's Dead Upset. She wouldn't let her daughter have premarital sex, marry her lover or break up with him. What did she want, to turn back time? Not a terrible show, but not up to Chill Sisters level.
Novel: Where do I begin? 1. Eunhui. This show is so bad that it got WMBC to stop carrying dramas. Mr. Cha should've killed her and all the men chasing after her.
2. Love My Love. Hanbok married the wrong man
Computer: 1. Melody of Love. You mean the lawyer is the singer's sister? Boola Boo? You mean the lawyer is the singer's sister? Boola Boo? You mean. . .
2. Love on a Rooftop. Not even so bad it's funny. Just plotless, meandering, and she picked the wrong guy.

You have to get the correct YouTube feed. There are several dramas only in a corner--High Kick 3, which I wanted to see, was like that as well.
So far, so good. Betcha actress lady is Sunshine's mom.

I tried on the same youtube that i saw all of the other KBS shows on. It had a KBS banner on it. When we saw Gu Family Book, the Admiral was in it helping to stop the Japanese invaders. he even had the draswing of the "turtle" ships that he made famous

www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPzdIHf-EQMKBS calls this You Are the Best - if you are searching for the longer title, maybe that is the problem and other sites are coming up first.... Yes, Admiral Yi Soon Sin from Gu Family Book.....and the turtle ship....exactly! I think you two are amazing for being able to list those old dramas in order of preference or whatever. I must say the dailies pretty much all run together in my head - the weekend ones I can distinguish pretty well....do you take notes or what? I guess my mind is getting worse and worse.....an old lady here......
