I'll look into that. I suppose we could keep up with Love and Secret. Ruby Ring is dark and supposedly doesn't have a happy ending.
Another one that looks good is called "Cheer Up, Mr. Kim." That's about a man who's the guardian to 4 sets of children. I don't know why he should cheer up, I guess because he needs a transplant or his mother is not really his mother.
I'll check out "Save the Family." If we can't agree to change, I'll go back to Love and Secret. I can't see Dodger liking Ruby Ring.

Save the Family and Cheer up Mr. Kim are both 35 minutes ones which would work for me.....until we decide I will keep up with L and S.....

I will keep up with L & S but my finger will be on the fast forward when Areum starts to cry her eyes out

OK, it's back to L and S for me. I haven't had a chance to check out the other two yet. I think we need something cute after the drama that was Angel's Revenge. Melody of Love should have been cute, but it went off on a tangent with that stupid suicide in prison subplot and the girl obsessed with clearing the name of her father but never once asking about her mother.

Live tweet episode 33. Forgive me, I can't remember anyone's name. 1. Blunt-cut Arranged Fiance is crying while a sad ballad plays. She was beaten by her mom's boyfriend. What the heck? Where did this plot come from? 2.Areum is crying just thinking about BCAF's mom's boyfriend beating her in subplot from nowhere. 3. Gay designer Louis and foul co-workers are eating cuttlefish and mussels instead of plotting orphan donation. Louis is throwing a fit because someone made him work, poor thing. Also, he has hemorrhoids. 4.BCAF tells off mother, crying the whole time, also drinking. 5. Baby Daddy is speaking to tan-haired half-white looking guy about Tiffany and if Areum will marry him. Oh, he doesn't want to get married because of the awful memories of those 6 weeks. 6. Time for guitar girl, in an unrelated subplot. Who's this guy with the curly hair? Some kind of freeloader, apparently. 7. Time for the chubby but loving family. Mom has a job, everyone talks about Karaoke guy and how nice he is and who may be freeloading. Fight over using designer shirt as a rag. 8.Areum has sore muscles from working at the warehouse. She's getting married to Baby Daddy? 9. Checkin in with foul bob-haired stepmom (FBHS) and her equally foul mother (EFM). Very short scene. Now BCAF and FBHS are scheming to get rid of Areum. Send her to Russia, ladies! 10.Seongun is having a flashback at Areum pushing boxes on a wheelbarrow. His friend is in Seoul, he's going out drinking. End of part 1--two tears, three arguments, one evil scheme.

11. Drinking buddies tell Seongun to marry blunt-cut Yuni. No tears or arguments, just some Scotch, it looks like. Is she ready to be just friends? 12. Areum and Baby Daddy are planning to meet her parents. She's blinking back the tears, but they're not flowing just yet. He doesn't want to stay in Korea and wants to study abroad. Talking about the arranged engaged broken up couple, as her eyes grow sadder and sadder. 13. Areum's family has insomnia, worrying about Philip Baby Daddy. 14. Tiffany is being played by a doll, I swear. 15. Baby Daddy;s getting ready to bail, and he also strikes me as possibly gay. Something in his mannerisms. 16. Mom is making food for Baby Daddy. Bro is eating meat. Another boring scene. 17.Here comes the happy couple and baby/doll. Everyone stares, Tiffany moves arms.
Nothing interesting happened in part 2. Some foreshadowing of a bad event, though.

lol...poodlepal! Yes, sometimes that baby doesn't seem real but it is cute. I also thought BD was not going to show up...
I don't understand why Stepmom is so big on Yuni marrying Seongun. She is a lawyer, okay, but her family background seems to be pretty bad - not sure what her attraction is to Stepmom.

So tonight we meet Philip's wife - evidently some issues there...she seems to know all about Areum. I am glad according to the previews that Areum will be back in the design group - I was really upset to see her lifting those cartons all the time - I guess they don't have unions in Korea - she certainly was demoted for no reason at all....wouldn't get away with that here I don't think...lol...

I have said this in almost every drama that we have seen---Why would a person want to get married to someone they know does not love them?

And you'll probably be saying it many times in the future, dodgerman...lol... It's beyond me....I guess the benefit of status is worth it? Even Seungon's father made a remark about the poor family background of Yuni - so I still don't understand the big push that Stepmom has to marry them off....

Philip is such a con man - buying the designer purse for Areum's mom and tonight having her bring over Tiffany to his place - I just don't see him as a devoted father at this point. And why does he want to go to Milan? What's the big deal about that - to get Areum away from Tiffany?
My favorite characters are the granny and the bar owner's daughter...they add some needed comedy.
I guess the s--- will be hitting the fan - chubby uncle lost his and Areum's family's money and Philip's undivorced wife is on her way....

What's great about this show is that you can stop watching for several days and it moves so slow that you hardly notice. I take it that Areum's father is not the minister?
I don't think Philip is a con man at all. I did snoop around a little, so my guess is not pure, but I believe this is modern day Eunhui with a baby. Dour, sad-sack Areum is being chased by two worthy men who can't resist her frown and tear-filled eyes. The only thing that may help this show is if the ex-wife is so bad she's funny. She looks like she may have that possibility.
In Korea, do people really form such love attachments from eating lunch together a few times? In K-Drama land they do. In the US (real life, anyway), people don't usually consider marriage until they've been together for years, usually met the families, had holidays together and possibly lived together. In K-drama land, they just have a soju after work or get locked in something together and they're in LOOOOOVE. Also, the men don't have to do much courtship on these shows. They never actually drive anyone to a date, for example, and they give gifts like a barrette or a tube of hand lotion.

Also, I should add that Tiffany, I believe, is a special needs child. She should be about 9 months old, yet she does nothing. She lays around like a newborn. She should be walking in a rolling walker thing at this age, and reaching for things. She should forget Milan, go back to Texas with the anchor baby and get her in American special ed classes (not that they seemed to help much with Anna from"Smile Donghae," apparently a proud graduate of New York public schools but couldn't read if there were too many words.)

In America as well, employers can fire or demote people more or less whenever they want, and unions can't or won't do much (and it's unlikely she would be in a union, at least until they sent her to the warehouse). At my job, the bosses blatantly violated a union contract pertaining to teacher class load and breaks and there's not much anyone can do about it except picket and go to city council meetings.

in the last scene of ep 39, Areum is holding her on her lap at the table and the kid doesnt reach for the food or the plates. In the scene at Phillip's when she is in the baby seat, the bay never reaches up for the dangling toys. They must have the kid on Xanax or Zoloft to tranq her out.
