I thought the funniest thing about these Korean "high-schools" is that they spend very little time actually learning anything!

WE have always commented on how the teenagers are always played by older actors. Even in the historical dramas the princes who were supposed to be 16 looked 40.

Very true, dodgerman...for some reason it is more pronounced in this one - maybe I haven't seen a 'high school' drama lately or ever....plus the parents look more like siblings for the most part....lol....but I sort of like it - first time I have seen a drama with LMH....he's is very good looking....actually I did see Personal Taste now that I did a bit of research.....don't know why I didn't remember that....and I think I will put Faith on my queue at DF - a historical with LMH.....after I finish The Princess's Man which I really like....

There are probably rules against overworking child actors and the difficulty of working through their school schedules. I guess not all of them have private tutors or home schooled. Plus the quality of the acting us probably more consistent with adults. Never mind that most of these actor and actresses are like chameleons that never age so playing high-school students is just a matter of a wardrobe and hairstyle change for most. Also , high-school age is up to 20 years old in Korea so maybe not too far a stretch of the imagination to portray a senior. Lots of the women are short in stature anyway. 163 cm is about 5 foot 2 I think.
It would also cost extra money to hire 2 sets of actors/actresses to realistically play a teenage and adult character do maybe costs come into account.

I saw Lee Min Ho is Boys Over Flowers and he was the lead in City Hunter which is my favorite "serious drama". Maybe we can watch Faith next after Heirs.

Okay, I'll go with Faith as the next 'weekend' drama....I am up to about ep 8 or so with Heirs. I am also, as I think I said, watching the Princess's Man but that is not a big priority....plus I am finishing a Japanese drama which is now on DF - Ryomaden - it's one of the annual NHK historical dramas - I had started watching it a couple of years ago before a Japan visit as the hero came from Shikoku where I visited - but I never finished it and now DF has it.... I don't think I watched City Hunter....I put so many on my queue and then I get involved in another one...lol....but I think LMH is very good looking - he's not Jang Geun Suk but he's quite okay imo....lol...

Getting back to the age of the actors - I know we have discussed it many times before - I guess in this one it is just more obvious as there is a whole high school with so many actors older than high school - even older Korean high school age - rather than a couple of actors older than their age....if you get my drift...lol...
And all that bullying - wow, that's really outrageous....I wonder if such a school exists there....with the different groups based on their income and family....probably so....

dodgerman, I re-started City Hunter - I think I stopped last time when I saw all the snakes in the first episode - so I got through that and they are in Seoul now....hopefully no more snakes - looks like a good one, thanks for refreshing my memory...good cast, lots of familiar faces....we need to let poodlepal catch up with us before we start the next weekday drama....

I saw Dream High and in that one all of the "high School" kids looked their age. It starred Suzy Bae(from Gu Family Book) who was 16 when it was made and the two other girls one from the girl group T-Ara and one who performs under the name IU looked the part as did the 3 main boys.

In City Hunter LMH is a college grad and it was made two years before his high school stint in Heirs...lol.... Didn't see Dream High, but if you like IU, dodgerman, she was in Bel Ami....a cute drama....

I'm up to ep 12 or so....when Kim Tan gets thrown out of his house and Young Do (sp?) takes over the school radio station and is about to announce something about KT..I am still liking this one and am also watching as I said before, The Princess's Man and beginning City Hunter.....
Eun Sang has seemed to mature a lot - she is protecting Tan now....I hope she has graduated and got a good job or is in college at the end. She does seem to have a brain - most of the rich kids just seem sort of lazy.
I am still confused about the ex-tutor of that kid whose mom was the police commander in You Are All Surrounded. Is the ex-tutor the GF of Tan's bro?
