lol...dodgerman - will try to check out the plate but I doubt I will see it....you are really good at these details... I remember, I think, in First Love - when what's her name was studying in Paris, they showed a scene from New York and you caught that right away!

I just finished episode 11. In Kshow fashion, it is that typical point when the poor girl & rich boy think they should not be with each other--he mopes, she cries and the background music makes you want to head for the Han River bridge.

This show is good for one thing pretty much. The eye candy! This show has quite the collection of today's young hot stars. As for the story, It's mostly just pretty guys and girls battling over trivial matters. But you have to admit, they look great in their uniforms.
The scenes with the mistress and the cha eun sung's deaf mother/maid are pretty funny. They make a funny odd couple.

The scenes with the mistress and the mute maid are hilarious. I think the maid but not speak can hear. And I agree madman, you cant beat the hot looking young stars.

I think I am up to ep 4 where Eun Sung and Tan are living in the large mansion in Seoul and keep missing each other as they walk....lol....shades of James and Anna.... I am sort of figuring out who is who - I think I got the younger generation sorted - it's the mothers that confuse me... Yes, the mute maid is humorous -she certainly can write fast. And the chairman, Jeong Dong Hwan - how many dramas have you seen him in? asianwiki.com/Jeong_Dong-HwanAbout as many as the granny in Melody of Love ;-)

Thanks, dodgerman - that does help - Yes, the CEO's second wife was Won's mom in Emergency Couple...lol....I don't remember her in King of Dramas - that was a while ago.
The CEO's secretary looks too young to have a high school aged son....
Amazing that the wife and mistress live in the same house....lol....
And I must say that these rich kids are pretty obnoxious....
Do we know why the elder brother is so angry at the younger brother? Forcing him to move to CA...

Older brother felt threatened by the younger brother and worried the dad would favor him. So he chased him away to the USA. The older brother is interested in business and managing it and by all accounts is pretty good at it. Why the dad wants the younger pretty boy son to have an active role is kind of a mystery.
Younger brother just wanted to have an older brother to look up to.
Sort of a usual storyline conflict between siblings from different mothers in a chaebol household. It is kind of wacky how the extended family including mistresses live together. Asians are generally family oriented but it is kind of weird. I heard a comment that Korea is a 21st century super power with a 13th century mindset. Makes me wonder if they still believe in the caste system or of that's just a kdrama thing.

Thanks....madman999 - interesting....I don't have any Korean friends so I can't inquire. After watching as many dramas as we all have I guess we get some kind of idea of what their society is about - whether it's true or not I surely don't know. Since I really haven't watched any US drama/soaps etc. for years now, I don't really know what kind of idea a foreigner would have of our society if they watched US dramas.....
But the recurring themes that we see certainly are interesting and pretty foreign in my mind at least. Such as the whole class thing....so many dramas have the rich boy/poor girl theme. And the whole family blood line thing as well as the hiding of the fact when a kid is adopted etc.....

Up to ep 7 or so, what really annoys me about this is most of the 'high school' actors are way past the age to be in high school even if they were left back.....;-)
Kim Tan - 27; Eun Sang - 24; Young Do - 26; the girls for the most part are younger.
And Chan Young at 23 looks pretty young but his dad, The Chief Secretary, in real life, is only 15 years older....lol...
I guess the reason that Bo Na speaks such excellent English is that she was born in CA....
