I finished episode 6 last night. there is no need to start another topic since I am the only one watching it. I like it. I know that the young detective whose Mom was killed thinks the Team leader is bad but I think he is somehow involved but not evil.

Starting a thread for this even if only two of us are watching as per madman999's suggestion!

Yes, the young detective really hates his boss.... btw, did you watch Chill Princesses, the weekend drama on WMBC a number of years ago? The young detective was in that as the tutor and later husband of the youngest sister.... asianwiki.com/Lee_Seung-Ki

I finished this drama but I will do my best not to spoil it for you all.
One of the themes of this show is about making someone do the right thing and the consequences. Even the police are powerless in the face of determined corrupt criminals it would seem.

interesting, madman999 - I think that is a good idea of a theme - it does become clear as the drama progresses......sometimes I wonder if Korean society is as corrupt as it is pictured in some of the dramas we all watch.....not that things here are perfect obviously....
But I did mention before about news even in today's NY Times about the family that owned the Korean ferry that went down last spring. Saying how much money they spent instead of doing safety stuff....

The conflict between the young detective and his boss has to do with his mother being asked to testify and the police supposed to offer witness protection. Seems like the witness protection aspect did not work.
Testifying is obviously the right thing to do in a higher sense but when your life is in danger, kind of hard to do the right thing. The boss at the time is kind of naive and optimistic. Also, it's unclear if he had a hand in the outcome.

Something obviously occurred between the Team leader and the Black Boots murderer. What is the connection is we don't know at this point

Black boots is a former cop..................but that's not all!
The root of the conflict is that Eun Dae Gu overhears him refer to a Detective Seo in his phone call when he's killing his mom.

2 episodes to go. I cant believe that when Yi Jong gets the mail from the dead corrupt cop and it has the locker key, he & the Team leader just pick it up without gloves!!! No chain of evidence in case there is a trial.

This wasn't particularly accurate for a police drama. From evidence disappearing to people getting beat up in interrogation rooms, it does give you a sense that the police are either highly corrupt or inept!

Seems similar to the hospital dramas we watched recently with docs and nurses not wearing masks and gloves....a bit inept for sure....
