I need some help which is why I am logged in as a guest. For some reason, the board is not allowing me to log in using my user name and password. I can't even PM eastnewyorker -- it simply won't allow me to. So, if any of you are computer savvy, please let me know what to do, so that I can continue to post without being a guest. Thanks, Dorrie

Ok, I figured it out, so.... In answer as to why I like the show, puppy, I find the behavior more believable than on alot of the other K-dramas that have been aired. There's some real passion, which I like. The mother's behavior towards the eldest son -- totally believable. I like the pace of the show. We didn't have to way 50 episodes for the Prosecutor's fiancee to discover he had another girlfriend. And I look forward to the each episode because I am curious about alot of the situations -- what's the relationship with the curly haired woman and the man whose house she lives in? Why is he hiding from the police? Why did the eldest brother's girlfriend leave her child to pursue such a loser? All in all, I find the show intriguing.

......and I feel sorry for Umi. Especially last nite when hubby's secy (who has something up her sleeve) took her shopping then tossed her a major dis:"I don't wear clothes like that. I wear good clothes." Get over yourself, girl! I thought it was a bit strange when the secy and Umi were in the department store that secy seemed very surprised that Umi had no money - Umi always says hubby has so many debts.....wouldn't secy know that as well - she is more than a secy, right - she was the one supervising eldest bro at the sauna or am I confused....

.......For some reason, the board is not allowing me to log in using my user name and password....... Glad you figured it out......I don't remember what I did but I am always logged in when I come on to the board....I find that easier with the various boards and forums that I am on - rather than trying to remember my userid and pin.......

I really dont care for this show. There isn't one character that is sympathetic. If I am out on Sat night, I dont even bother to tape it.

These two fools are really fighting over this girl. I have truly seen it all. Good night! Wait, other comments: what's up the guy who was so anxious to dress up like a woman to go undercover? And what kind of fool makes a guy come running in the middle of the night, only to break up with him the same night? He's sweet and passionate and damn fine, and you just don't find men like that all that often. What's her problem?

Tonight's episode was pretty depressing.....

I thought Sunday's show was well done with poignent dialogue & emotions-- it was very sad. So, in answer to dodgerman's complaint and in defense of this show, Umi is the character to sympathize with and root for, and I also feel compassion for her husband.

Yes, door, I definitely agree - the more I think about it the episode was quite untypical with the amount of time spent with Umi and Hyechal (sp?) discussing their relationship.....I usually don't get such an idea of the intense feelings of the characters.....I felt that he just couldn't put his feelings into words - he didn't even look her in the eye but I think he does have feelings for her - I didn't realize they slept in separate rooms.
I also didn't realize that this drama went on at 9 pm exactly - the previous ones have always gone on more like 9:06 to 9:10......

Anyone still watching this show? If not, I don't blame you.
It's official now: I hate everyone on that show except for Umi. Even the hot son is getting on my nerves for being so smug in telling his mom that he knows he can 'control' his girlfriend. And his subordinate being all father knows best toward the girl who just has a crush on him. And the father telling the mom how nice it is to see her in the kitchen. Grrr.

I'm with you leeanable. Every character in this show is awful. I dont even like Umi-she is so depressing. I wonder if in modern Korea the DIL is still a virtual slave. I cant understand why if she is so miserable at home, she doesnt just get out and get a job and shut up.

I agree with you, leeanable and dodgerman, this show is going downhill fast. However, in Korea it is so popular that they have extended it to 70 episodes from 50....
I guess we still have the mysteries of when the Bros.' father will figure out his newest DIL is, indeed, the former partner of the dude in jail and when we will know what lies behind his relationship with the jewelry co. owner.
Oh, another thing, I only understand a few words of Korean - what I have picked up from watching the dramas, but it seems to me that Umi's mother speaks a different dialect than the rest of them....wonder what's up with that....

Wow, do I disagree with both mara and dodgerman. I thought last nite's episode was fabulous. I loved the proposal scene between the young cop and his love. In the beginning, when he said he was drunk, I just couldn't understand why he would do that, since he seems to have his head together. I thought it was a dream scene. It took me just seconds before the proposal to actually figure it out. And, I loved that Umi's husband stook up for last nite! Well even though you guys don't like this show, I'm glad there is some discussion of it.

door60, I must say I really liked last night's episode as well - maybe a different writer.....I liked the same parts as you did - the proposal and Umi's husband standing up for her. I also liked the scene when Umi told her MIL how she felt - MIL is clueless of course. Hopefully, this drama will stay on a better course....also it seems they are trying to make the new DIL a bit sympathetic with her thoughts of a loving family for her son....

Maybe it does get better; that's the only reason I can think of for KBS extending the show, as Mara said earlier. For the time being, I'm going to ignore this show and try to find subbed eps of Ob/Gyn Doctors online.
