Is that the oldest son's lady friend, mecca? The father of the boy she sort of abandoned to make her way in the high stakes world of insurance? I don't like her very much (frankly, I don't like many of the characters here yet) and I suspect I won't like him either.
I agree with everything said about the stiffness of the romances in most of the dramas. I guess it reflects K-culture in the homeland but not here if the Koreans I know in NY and PA are any indication.
And as to that "not suitable" disclaimer...think about it. This story's about a frizzhead woman who makes no bones about the fact she lives off men, a woman who's been with her beau (in the biblical sense) for 5 years without marriage, another woman who seems to hit motels regularly with one man while she married to another in jail, a bro who's about to sleep with his sec'y...the list goes on. I suppose parents who watch don't want their young kids to be influenced by all the smarm.

I must have missed something here. I did not hear that the Insurance woman's husband was in prison. The only person I heard that was in jail was the frizzy woman's son, and she is trying to persuade her dauaghter to persuade her husband to bail him out.

I actually didn't get that from the drama, door, but read it on a few other boards. I gather she's married to the con, the father of her kid. Don't know why she's not with her son since she has a job and an apartment, or why she hangs out (and appears to occasionally sleep with) whiney oldest son.

Ohhhh, I didn't even know the insurance woman was still in touch with the father of her child. Which episode is that revealed in Mecca?
Isang sure wears his heart on his sleeve. He's completely fallen for Eoyeong in the short time they've spent together. I can't help myself but I have a huge crush on the jerk ex of hers lol, I still want to slap him silly though. Much like Seonjae from LoN.
I forgot the oldest bro's name, but what a dufus! He has no manners whatsoever and no respect, I don't feel sorry for him again over the way his dad treats him and the mother.
Hyenchal? The middle one lol. It's the usual issue there of the middle child having no identity and struggling for some love and attention. And while he's longing for that from his parents, he's not giving any to his wife.
Oh, and useless info lol, the siblings don't have names that end the same way this time.

.......Oh, and useless info lol, the siblings don't have names that end the same way this time. Good one, brooklyn! I think this is the first drama I've seen where the siblings don't share part of their names......and it did not occur to me at all...... Yes, this is a sad collection of brothers....I agree with your critique.

The eldest brother is definately pathetic. I can't figure out what his girlfriend sees in him either. It seems as though she has a steady job, a cute little apartment. So, I'm with you, brooklyn why isn't her son with her? Maybe she figures since she's a woman who is not married and with a child, the loser elodest son is the best she could hope for as far as a mate is concerned. It is also unclear to me why the youngest son, the cop, is so in love with the girl. It seems that in k-dramaland that people fall in love hard & quickly. I mean, it was only a month, let it go. I am still curious as to the relationship between the curly hair woman and the man whose house she is living in. All in all, I like this drama so far. I am looking forward to seeing the upcoming episodes.....

Did you catch that kiss last nite, Door? No wet noodles there!
And, as to Frizzhead and the guy whose house she now seems to live in...I thought from something on the ChiBoard, that she was his ex-wife, not ex-housekeeper. I wonder how long it will take us to find out what's in the blackmail letter she keeps hanging over his head.

I did cathch the kiss last nite, Puppy -- it was not their first passionate kiss! I am definately curious about the contents of the blackmail letter, and just about their relationship in general. It seems as though his eldest daughter doesn't like the curly haired woman at all, but the younger one is fond of her. Both girls call her ahjumma, so I can't imagine that she was married to their father.

In all honesty now, the woman the eldest son is sneaking around with doesn't look like she's playing with the whole deck. I know the writers wouldn't try telling us she's that immature because she gave up her childhood to have a kid. No, the kid looks like he's about 8 or so and the woman's friend was scolding her about almost being 40 and not settling down... yikes, that whole restaurant scene wasn't right. Dorrie, it's not as if the eldest son is that cute either lol. I love the name Frizzhead!! What a woman fass??? When Eoyeong was scolding whatsherface in their bedroom, Frizzhead just had to butt in. Augh, mind your business. Then in the kitchen again... she's always jumping in when Eoyeong's there and she knows Eoyeong isn't fond of her. To the real meat of my post lol, I might be evil for putting this but I was so excited when Lawyerdouche's fiance walked in on Eoyeong and scolded her. Seems tonight's episode had a scolding theme. I didn't feel an ounce of pity for her, I found myself hurrying the fiance along to get inside the apartment x.x Eoyeong got owned not once, but twice. Wow, the previews have her running into some waves, wonder if it's the same beach Sua tried throwing herself in from LoN or the one Suin and her ex fought in front of from TRH?

I think I should refrain from posting, I am waaay ahead of you. Brooklyn, yes I was happy to see the lawyer douchebag scolded EY, she is too needy, selfish, and controlling.

Post on the spoiler thread, mecca. I like to get advanced notice, especially when some of these plots draaag.
I guess we're in for more of Weepygirl Eoyeong moaning her fate. I'm glad it didn't take forever for the lawyer's fiance to make herself known to Eoyeong. In most K-dramas, that's just the sort of thing that would play out over a gazillion episodes, until Eoyeong's already has her wedding dress; maybe she's on her way to the ceremony when her phone rings in the car. She sees it's her supposed husband-to-be, picks it up all smiles, and he says, "I have somethig to tell you." Exit theme. We wait another week to find them in a coffee shop someplace, she still all in white, her veil covering her eyes. Camera focuses on the cups, pans up to his face; he says, "We can still see each other once in a while, right?"

I like the pace of this drama, and the story so far. I'm still wondering what the relationship is between the curly-haired woman and the man whose house she lives in. Yesterday, I noticed, she called him, Oppa, at least 3x. Yet, his girls call her, ajhumma. I'm sure it will be revealed when the contents of that note is disclosed. I think they must have been secret lovers. Also, I am curious as to why he's afraid of cops and his relationship with the father of the main family.

DOOR60, Guest?? You're our Dorrie, right?
Anyway, I know you've been saying how much you like this drama and I usually agree with your posts. But, try as I might, I find it tedious. To me, there are no likable characters; they're either nasty (Mom and evil lawyer, to name two) silly (youngest son) or annoying (Eoyeong). I like eldest son the least.
I guess, even tho I'm from a different culture, I usually find a few characters to identify with in most of the K-dramas. That's been tough here altho Frizhead ajumma is OK (but she's some sort of blackmailer) and I feel sorry for Umi. Especially last nite when hubby's secy (who has something up her sleeve) took her shopping then tossed her a major dis:"I don't wear clothes like that. I wear good clothes." Get over yourself, girl!
