Some one recommended highly the daily drama " Ruby Ring" which was on Korean TV from 19 August 2013 – 3 January 2014 in all 93 episodes. 2013 KBS Drama Awards for excellent Actor and Actress. That appears to be the weekly drama from KBS 2 whereas the Melody of Love is (or was) the weekly on KBS 1.....so it is on the KBS Youtube channel..... I don't know if we want to get into another long weekly type drama now - over 90 episodes- but when we are ready for another we should remember to check out both KBS 1 and 2....thanks sara79.

Some of the higher rated dramas by viewer audience numbers for the past couple of months to my knowledge were
The Heirs Empress Ki Man from the Stars Wang Family I hear your Voice A Hundred years inheritance Seoyeong my Daughter Master's Sun May Queen
Can't vouch for the quality or guarantee you will like them but I believe they were the most watched at least in Korea according to their version of the Nielsen ratings system.

I am watching You're All Surrounded - it is described as a comedy but it really isn't -it has a few funny scenes and it is very interesting and not 'dark' like Golden Cross - each episode seems to unfold more of one of the character's back story - it is on Dramafever: wiki.d-addicts.com/You%27re_All_Surrounded

Hope you continue liking it, dodgerman....I really enjoyed it - the blurb on Dramafever calls it a comedy - I don't go that far - but it isn't gory/bloody like IRIS was for the most part and there are quite a few times that I laughed out loud.....

dodgerman, how are you doing with YAAS? Do you want me to start a separate topic for it?

Just a suggestion, maybe you could start a new topic for each drama. If anything it will lessen any cross posting and possible confusion.

Just in case someone was interested in historical period pieces without any funky mystical elements, there are 3 stand out ones that I know of.
The ones I have watched are Empress Ki and Queen Seon Deok. There have an equal balance of action and court intrigue and would be entertaining to a wide range of audience in my opinion. They are 50 plus episode epics so there will be alot of ups and downs and light humor to balance things out.
Another that I could recommend is The Princess's Man-it's more a revenge drama and part romance although it doesn't necessarily have a happy ending.
Another that I gave heard was good was Dong Yi. I only got to watching the first episode but it's on my to watch list.

I have also seen Queen Seon Deok - a few years back I had the premium cable station briefly, MBC, and it was showing that - then I saw the rest of the episodes on DF...very enjoyable. Empress Ki is not on DF but The Princess's Man is and it's only 24 episodes.....thanks for the recommendations, madman999.
I also have Dong Yi on my watch list....lol

I am almost done with Dream High. It is like the movie Fame. It follows 6 kids in a special Arts HS. The 3 girls are so cute---Suzy Bae from Gu Family Book(she was 16 when this was made), Ham Eun Jung from the group T-ara & Lee Ji Eun who sings under the name IU. One of the teachers is the Princess from King 2 Hearts and the other played the bad guy in the cyber dramas Ghost and played the manipulative Michael in Golden Cross. In this show, he is such a nerd. Dont know what I will start next.

If you liked Kim Soo Hyun in Dream High-he played the country hick turned superstar, you should try Man from the Stars/My love from the stars if you haven't seen it. I think it's on Dramafever.

Mara, did you say you had an Android tablet? If so, go to mobi24.net website and download the Dramania apk file and install it. This app let's you watch and download episodes of dramas to your tablet. You will have to enable install from unknown sources in settings application menu.
