I thought he was wearing sneakers. Doesn't he ALWAYS wear sneakers? But if you saw black shoes it might be because he was on his way to some new products meeting when he got the call about Grannie's collapse. But he's gone to those things before in sneakers. Have you noticed, mara, that just like the camera focuses on a teacup being set down when two characters are in a restaurant to discuss some heavy development, and on Cuda mom's hand gripping the wall or the door frame like a claw, it also focuses a lot on Cheol's highly polished, pointy-toed black shoes? In the west, cups are female symbols and shoes represent male aggression and sexuality; (don't know about claw-hands). I wonder what the eastern symbolism is? I think he might have been wearing sneakers two nights ago but he was definitely not last night - he was a bit dressed up as he was going to the shareholders/directors meeting when he got the call..... Gee, I had no idea about that symbolism at all.....interesting.....maybe we can do some research..... ;D

Most of these dramas does not really depict the trueness of Korean modern time its very 60's 70's depiction, who puts a pregnant person on his back and run to the hospital? Who does that anymore? that is why emergency numbers was put in place, shaking a patient is wrong, may do more damage, why does the writers write such drivel, don't the consult a medical doctors or even books. I guess "Claw Hands" represents rage, exasperation!?

Mecca, even though I do not know a thing about Korean culture, except what I get from the k-dramas, it is clear that most of the situations couldn't possibly be the way people really react. From time to time, they air an intelligent drama, like Mom's Dead Upset, and it becomes clear that alot of the other shows are ridiculous. I think everyone understands that the storyline, the characters behavior, etc. in the Jolly Widows is so ridiculous, which is why everyone complains about the show.

I'm having mixed feelings about who I think Taesu should be with.....I can argue both positions. Also I have decided that Donja wasn't really all that bad - she really felt she was doing the best thing for Jinwu at the time - also Taesu's memory wasn't back then so it was quite a different situation.......the one to be hurt the worst was really Grandma - Yunjeong was going to marry Junwu and seemed happy enough......

Donja was just doing what she thought was best for her son and that is what CEO MOm was doing. All she wanted was to keep the husband that she loved. She went about it with lying ans scheming but all she wanted was to keep her family together. I really dont know how they will end this. Whatver they do, some people wont be very jolly. My solution which leaves the least number of people miserable--Not Dead stays with CEO, Nayun & Najeong. Mechanic Mom marries Junwu and Suhyeon marries FashionBoy. Jinwu & Nayun stay together and have some crazy sex which forces their families to let them marry and makes Smirky nuts. Jingyy has her baby and lives happily ever after with Han

that analagy is like apples and oranges. Donja was greedy, she saw $ signs, anf justified it that it was for her son. Mrs. CEO, what to say about her selfish, manipulative, big time user, the one who put food on your table and a roof over their heads, they should of supported MM thye chose otherwise I am with Taesu for deciding to go back with his 1st wife. Cartoon guy, I just could not take him, he was waay to pushy and that mum yuk!

More importantly than the slow mo plot of this drama, was Han's new hair-cut, which I thought was very flattering -- it looked like Suyheon's boyfriend's hair-cut. I guess his stylist went over to Han -- I wonder if Han will show up in some runway clothes.

Yes, he looked a lot nicer than usual last night.....I was thinking that Suhyeong was well rid of him...
But Cheol - I mean, why would a man want to marry a woman that hates him? Am I missing something?

Hair:: Dongja's do changed on Yun's wedding day and I thought it was some special style or something. But now she wears it all the time and it's kind of old lady'ish (apologies to all the old ladies out there including myself). I like Han's altho it makes him look like Peter Pan. Not too sure about all the red dye. Nayun's hair used to be black; ditto Suhyeon's. You can see the dark part line in the former's and the latter's looked striped last nite. Jingle Belle's is the same and that may be the only thing I like about her.
Cheol could just want the clout of marrying the boss's daughter and I guess he thinks she's hot. That look he gave her last nite when he laid his cards on the table said it all. He's certainly not looking for a soul-mate. But Nayun...she never liked him as husband material, especially after he got mean and she fell for Jinwu, BUT SHE WAS STILL GOING O MARRY HIM! As a woman, I can tell you that's mad weird.

Forgot to ask, mecca, what's the demographic for these shows in Korea? Does anyone know? My guess is over forty; way over forty. Also, are there any Korean Drama fan mags in English?

What is with Jinwu and the freaking sneakers??? he went to talk to Ms. jang to plead for Unicorn and he is wearing a nice sports jacket, tie and the goofy sneakers!!! And about the hair, Suhyeon's & Nayun's sometimes looks red and sometimes brown. With Cheol, I think he is just hot for Nayun. She really is cute. Maybe he thinks she will learn to love him--ha, ha.

Maybe there is something wrong with Jinwu and he needs to wear sneakers.....I've been wearing running shoes ever since I broke my foot in '07 as they were the best fitting for my foot according to my doc.....maybe he has an issue of some kind. Yesterday when Nayun heard about Ms. Jang and the company, she looked like she might decide to cave..... I wonder how Jinwu thinks he will save the company.... I think Cheol is thinking twice now about his alliance with Ms. Jang - what did she say last night to him - something about she wished she met Jinwu first - he would be better at her dirty work than Cheol.....

I think Cheol has just seen too many romcoms where the woman hates the man but ends up sleeping with and falling in love with him in the end. He just missed the important part where the guy does something to redeem himself in the woman's eyes. Silly rabbit. I might get killed for this, but if the soap was longer (*ducks flying objects*), they could've explored of the dynamic between Cheol and Ms. Jang. They could go off and be sexy and evil together. Not that I have thought about that a lot, or anything.

Last nite, I just had to shut this show off. I couldn't take the same old dialogue over and over again. Nothing ever happens on this show, and I just am anxious for it to end, so we can go on to the next. Hopefully, the next show will be more interesting!
