Wow, 43 years ago.....I went for the first time in the late 1990's. I guess some things will be different, but others basically the same...lol...I'm sure you will have a wonderful time - Paris is my second favorite place after Japan....
I think I have two more episodes. I am up to the point where Eun Shi-Kyung is holding a gun to the King's head somewhere in China and John Mayer is sitting across the way under an umbrella.....

I finished this . Like every TV show, the bad guy gets the best of the good guy until the last half hour. You see the bad guy--Mr. Cha, Mr. Sa, evil politicians in the last show in one scene going to jail and that is it.

If you liked the main actress Ha ji won you should check out Secret Garden if it's available to you on Dramafever and you haven't watched it.

Thanks for the recommendation, madman999 - I will put it on my viewing queue. I am also thinking of Hwang Jin-Yi - she is also the star plus the added benefit of Jang GeunSuk......but I still have to finish Gu Family.....

I am trying to finish the GU & I will watch whatever you guys pick when I get back. lol....dodgerman - 'you guys' are pretty much you and me.....madman999 makes many helpful comments but doesn't seem to be watching anything at the time we are and poodlepal previously said she would not be doing 'weekend' dramas at this time... As I said I will be going away shortly after you return for almost two weeks - in that period my viewing will be limited to the daily drama at most. My next trip which starts shortly after Election Day and lasts for a little more than a week is more promising as I will be alone so can watch videos but have forgotten if I can see DF in France....I will email them and ask. To make a long story short you might be pretty much on your own til the middle of November....

Getting back to the theme of King2Hearts....it has been interesting to read in the newspaper recently that representatives of the North and South are meeting up again a little....

Reunification is always on the back burner. It will happen eventually.
What's fascinating about this show is that even though it's fiction, it made me research a little bit into Korean history and indirectly made me more interested in period/historical dramas in general.
Another drama set in an alternate universe is Goong (Princess Hours). It's more an old style straight romantic comedy(more Cinderella and less action) but it was very popular at the time.
